Hey there! Thought I would share my status.

1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 12, 2012.

2.We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on September 12, 2012. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3.We started processing your application on March 15, 2013.

I contacted the CIC call center and they informed me that they had sent my application to Edmonton in Oct 2013. Obviously things are either really slow or something is wrong that I know nothing about.
I don't think you have to worry much. Applications prior 2014 are moving in slow pace. Your local office also matters, if they are slow in process in general then it's OK.

Actually CIC has taken steps to move faster with new applications receiving mostly from 2014 onward or from late 2013 while they are trying to clear backlog previous year's submissions. People are applying now getting In Process status within 45-60 days while in your case took 6 month in 2012.

So, I spoke with the CIC call centre to ask if there had been any news. I wrote my test at St. Clair at the end of January and I was told, then, that it'd take 4-6 months for an oath date. I was told the same the last two times I called, but today he told me that my RQ (issued in October 2013) was still being processed and I shouldn't expect to hear anything until October 2015. During the test, I asked the agent explicitly whether my RQ had been fully processed and she said yes.

So:
Is the call centre agent talking out of his *** or was the agent during the test lying to me? Guesses?
