Hi there, no… nothing yet. I only had one update in july 2025 when the prohibition that was completed went back to in progress. So now both background and prohibition are in progress. I was never asked for fingerprints. I see in other forums people from 2023 still stuck. :/

I was in the same boat background changed from completed to in progress last year july 25,2025 and nothing till i send them an email citing some Supreme Court ruling and asking that my application be moved from on hold three days later i got a reply my application has been put back in queue waiting to be scheduled for citizenship interview and exactly 7 days todsy i got a ghost update so i will advise you to request for gcms notes it tells you exactly why then from there you can write an email or webform to get your application moved but know that this is a 50-50 chance some officers may ignore depending on your case also this is not a legal advice ✌

Legal Note: Pursuant to Kanthasamy v. Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), 2015 SCC 61, the Citizenship Act must be interpreted broadly to ensure fairness. The documentation provided clearly establishes lawful presence under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. There is no discretion to discount these days. The Residence eligibility is fully satisfied.

2. Procedural Concern: Expiration of Criminality Clearance (GCMS Page 13)

I note with concern that my CIT RCMP Screening Validity Date expired on 2025/09/18. The file has been "On Hold" for nearly 10 months since the Residence assessment was due.

Given that the only outstanding step is the verification of the evidence attached herein, further delay will necessitate a de novo fingerprint request and a new clearance validity period. This would prejudice the Applicant and run contrary to the principles of procedural fairness and efficient administration outlined in Vavilov.

I will not advise you use same if your situation is not the same as mine so to be on the safer side

1. Request GCMs notes because that will tell you exactly why your file is on hold and i can give you the prompt you can use to get AI to get you the necessary federal case study to use based on your GCMS notes

I received an invitation for an interview with Kitchener this May so hopefully I get everything closed and oath scheduled after that

Did anyone try splitting your spousal app to make it individual at least one of the couple can get the Oath ceremony scheduled ?

Your best bet always to request GCMS notes because it gives you the reason why your account is on hold then you can take it from there trying to split will create more problems for you because then your application becomes a non-routine application that does not fall under the writ of mandamus as the delay will be caused by you requesting the split instead
