Hello all

Thanks for all your help thus far. One quick question. Any idea, how long one need to wait usually after the Oath Ceremony to receive Citizenship Certificate? Thanks.

Recently I accepted an employment offer outside Canada, the date of joining is 1st week of June 2022. My wife and I completed our test on Jan 17th and background was completed for both of us on Jan 31st. No action since then.

I am at peace with the assumption that I won’t have the oath invite and passport before I leave and we will have to come back whenever it happens.

Do you think I need to notify IRCC that I am moving out of the country (change of address through webform) or I simply change my address (by proving a friends address) without telling that I am taking employment outside Canada?

Thanks in advance.
The guidance on the IRCC portal states that you should notify them if you leave the country for over 2 weeks. So in your case, yes !

Hi jakev,

Could you please post a link from the IRCC portal where this 2 week notification requirement is described? I was unable to find it and will be vacationing for a month, while my application is still in progress.
TIA

Your situation is very tricky. If you are able to quickly travel to Canada for the oath, then you should be ok. It has happened to some people that their oath has been put on hold until they give proof to IRCC that they are back in Canada.

1-if you inform your file put on hold until you come back and prove i am in Canada now.
2-after oath you stuck in Canada for passport if urgent processing 3 to 4 week and normal processing each 8 week
