Hi Everyone!

I called cic and was told that my application is undergoing a security check. My eligibility and criminality have been met. I asked how long will this process take, and I was told that they can't give me a deadline and was asked to just be patient. Anyone have any information about security check and its timelines? I've already passed the 6 month mark and it is driving me crazy!

I have requested GCMS notes in September but I still didn't receive them yet, any reason why would CIC hold my notes? I requested another set of notes two week ago, hope it comes through this time.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting! Hope we all get our PPRs soon.

@navinball and @sid1987 both of you mates have something in common which is making senseless observations and sticking to it.

@sid1987 before calling Indian staff at NDVO lazy breed please keep in mind that these are the people who have PPRs to so many from all corners of the world after sending them email. This happened at the time when no other VO was even replying to emails. :rolleyes:

Wonder what kind of world you are living in , wake up buddy !!!

Security timelines sadly are not consistent. So it could be few days to few months. This is based on what people have reported on this forum.

Did you ask when did the security check start for you?

There may not be any reason for IRCC to withhold your GCMS notes. Many folks have reported that sometimes their ordered notes never arrived but the second order came within timelines. So, not sure what happens at IRCC end but some orders seem to slip through the cracks. So, no need to read too much in to it. Let's hope the second set arrives on time.

looks like you have not yet recovered from the 'tequila shot' from 4 yrs ago. just because ndvo issued emails to a bunch of folks in december does not make it the 'fastest vO'.

Please give me some secs , I am currently going through previous conversations and as you guys have been busy so it has increased work load for me. I will get back to you at an appropriate time.

I didn't ask, but my criminality check was finished mid October. Do you know if security check and security screening are the same thing? Because I asked if my application is going through "security screening" and the agent replied " yes, it's going through a security check" .

No they are not the same thing. Plus, agents can't tell you if you are in security screening or not. So, don't worry about that. Better way of knowing is only GCMS notes that may have some indication of SS. But also remember some agents are better than others in giving information. So just wait for GCMS notes.

go and try for pRTD.. u will start another thread here... PRTD is emergency document and they say turn around time is more than 2 months ..

Can u share ur ip2 date and visa office ?
Any idea when ur security check started ?
