Thanks rosty2; ECAS still shows Application Received

This is really disturbing. Why would CIC reject the application if the noc code matched with your job duties in the first place? :S. Did they give a reason as to why they think the noc code didnt match?

I actually have a question from everyone else. I have applied under noc code 2173. But recently I found out 2174 matches to my job duties too. Can CIC cause a problem. Can I update my schedule to include both noc codes?

Please let me know!

Hi June applicants,

it's a sad day for me, I got an email from CEC today, my application got declined. The reason is about the NOC code between NOC 6221 and NOC 6411

NOC 6411 which is skill level C
Sales representatives, wholesale trade (non-technical), perform some or all of the following duties:

Promote sales to existing clients

Identify and solicit potential clients

Provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services

Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates

Prepare or oversee preparation of sales or other contracts

Consult with clients after sale or signed contracts to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Review and adapt to information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions

Represent companies that export and import products or services to and from foreign countries

May conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce

May supervise the activities of other sales representatives.

AND NOC 6221 which is skill level B

Technical sales specialists perform some or all of the following duties:

Promote sales to existing clients

Identify and solicit potential clients

Assess clients' needs and resources and recommend the appropriate goods or services

Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs

Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to illustrate benefits from use of good or service

Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service

Prepare and administer sales contracts

Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support

Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment

May train customers' staff in the operation and maintenance of equipment

May conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce

May supervise the activities of other technical staff and sales specialists.

Both are pretty close to my job duties, therefore i went with NOC 6411 which i didn't know it's a skill level C.

my question is should i rectify CIC regarding this rejection or should i re-apply since i have had a working experience under NOC 6235 financial service representative, but i have left Canada for my home country because my work permit has expired.

Please advice!!! thank you

Guys,

I am getting so frustrated with the process. We have been waiting quite a while now. I checked ecas today and my status still says "Application received" I am also concerned about my NOC code. My work experience was in NOC 1242 Legal Administrative Assistants which is skill level B. I got This did not correspond to the NOC code HRSDC stated for me when I sent them my employment letter. They said my NOC code was 1228 which is Immigration Officer. I did work in immigration but not in that capacity. I was a Submission Officer, i.e. people who review the files, maintain records, advise on immigration status before another officer makes a final decision. Do you think this could be a problem? Would my work experience not be considered skilled enough?

Hi june applicants,

I really" appreciate the concern, i woke up this morning with a mixed feeling of sad, mad and regret. This is kind of my fault, i did not check that NOC 6411 is skill level C instead NOC 6221 is skill level B, when i did my application, i was thinking of claiming my job as NOC 6221 but NOC 6411 is the one that i chose because i don't want them to reject my application because of not match job description.

my job as a small and medium business associate is approaching small and medium business about our telecommunication products and if they agree to sign a contract i am the one that set up the product and if they have problem i also the one that help them troubleshoot. i keep asking my self now why didn't i choose the NOC 6221 instead, i will probably get a medical check up now. But i have to move on.

i have 3 options:

1. Appeal the decision, but the job was from april 2010 and i am not with the employer anymore and it is kind of hard to get them to write reference letter for me. plus you said appealing takes as long as new application.

2. I can re-apply with my job as Financial service representative which is NOC 6235 skill level B. i have one year experience already but i don't have a working permit anymore and i am at my home country now.

3. My fiance is a canadian permanent resident, we plan to get married in january 2014, i was thinking of applying after we get married as a family sponsorship from my spouse to be.

please let me know what's you opinion, i don't want to incur a lot of fees as i had for this first applications.

thank you guys

Regards,

I have applied under 2174 as my official title is "Software Developer". 2173 and 2174 are basically same (IMHO). At first I had 2173, then found Software Developer is listed as sample title under 2174. I don't think there would be any problem if otherwise. These are just sample titles. So far I read from every one, they matches your NOC number with the job description you have in your letter. I am also waiting for my MR. The person whose application was rejected because of his/her NOC belonged to a category that is not acceptable. Both 2173,2174 belongs to Category A (http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/pdf/Matrix.pdf)

My Status switched to "In Process" this morning..... Still haven't received my medicals
File rec'd : 6th June
AOR Received : 9th NOV

** No point in appealing, you had the wrong NOC.

2. I can re-apply with my job as Financial service representative which is NOC 6235 skill level B. i have one year experience already but i don't have a working permit anymore and i am at my home country now.

** This is fastest/best bet. As long as you have 12 months FT (or equivalent) experience within the last 3 years, you are good to apply for CEC.

3. My fiance is a canadian permanent resident, we plan to get married in january 2014, i was thinking of applying after we get married as a family sponsorship from my spouse to be.

This is another option, but I'd suggest applying via CEC in the interim.

please let me know what's you opinion, i don't want to incur a lot of fees as i had for this first applications.

hi guys, good news for me today. I received an email from CPP-O that my application was approved and I guess medical request is waived for me. the email was asking me to submit the RPFF fees($490). that I paid right away and emailed them the receipt as indicated in the email. I am not sure why I did not receive the medical request but one thing is sure they say my application satisfies them so YAY!!
