Hi, July 2022 applicants, let's share infos/timelines here.
I submitted inland paper application on July 18, 2022.
Nothing from IRCC yet.
I see some July applicants have already received AOR. Feels like IRCC is speeding up...

I also have a question: I am holding visitor visa in Canada now, do I need to apply for visitor record if I do not receive open work permit or PR in 6 months?

Wish you all good luck!

Did you apply on paper? It seems that most people applied in July on paper got their AOR in 2 weeks.
Yes paper based. It does seem like most of the paper applicants in July got AOR within two weeks time and OWP in about three weeks.

Yes it was totally surprising and so unexpected. We had obviously planned for a much longer wait than this.
Yours will come, it seems to be faster processing these days. Hopefully they can deal with all the backlog ASAP.

Hello, I am PR and will submit family sponsorship for my kid soon, I'm renewing his expired study permit. However, I found that as the depending child of a PR, he does not required a study permit to study in Canada https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/guidelines-on-minor-children.html

I am wondering if he needs any kind of status e.g. visitor etc to stay and continue study in Canada while I am preparing for his family sponsorship application, thank you so much!

I think study permit is not required, but I suggest you contact your kid’s school to confirm it, the international student department should give the best advice.
