Pre arrival letter is sent to the applicant once the sponsor has been approved and eligibility is passed. This takes place around the time your file is transferred to your local Visa Office.

Pre arrival are free services provided to new/landed immigrants. There are a lot of services provided to new immigrants which is really nice gesture from the Canadian government.

Typically after pre arrival your background check and security check start as these steps are completed by the Visa Office

I received the pre-arrival letter after 14months. Spouse visa here and june 2017 applicant.

I am Canadian PR living in Canada and my wife is living in India. After completing the entrie spouse sponsorship file, Today I mailed it out at Case Processing Centre-Sydney, Nova Scotia address. I just wanted to make sure that I have sent my file at the correct address. File will arrive on Monday. Thanks.

For the people that know me tomorrow I will receive the passport of my wife with her visa after 15 months !!!!

One thing is sure when we're in canada we will fight for people and immigrants to have rights and believe in a better future

one tip: don't stop to ask and to send email to governement, if they don't hear you they will never accelerate the process

Hi,
I had submitted my spousal sponsorship application in July 2018. Though I can see several acknowledgements for applications is the month of Aug, mine is still pending.
How to know whether the application is on hold or refused ? I was trying to reach IRCC , but calls are not going through. Please advise.
