did you leave the country after your application ?

i wonder why these requests are coming up, document expiry could not be the only reason.

When you say "leave the country"...does leaving the country only affect the application process if you're gone longer than a specific amount of time? Does leaving for 1 week matter?

No it doesn't affect your application.

Edit: though, if you are submitting a new PCC and you visited your home country between getting the PCC and submitting to CIC - you might be requested to submit a new one.

These requests are coming up because it's been very long since they received the previous Schedule A. They need to know what you've been up to in the meantime.

Thank you! Why are some people saying they had to resubmit background checks because they left Canada though?

I would guess it's all up to the VO, but if the applicant left the country and informed CIC (should let them know), the applicant's schedule A details have changed (both address and employment history) and so the VO might want to request an updated copy of it.

ok makes sense, but if they just leave for a week for vacation they don't need to update CIC right? He didn't leave to work or move addresses or anything like that.
