July - 2014 Applications

No one can assume their personal processing times according to everyone else's. There are people who applied in September 2014 who have already started receiving their COPR in the mail, and there are people who applied in July/August who are still waiting for medicals. It all depends on each individual case and if you supplied all the correct information and documentation. My boyfriend and his friend applied on the exact same date in September 2014. His friend called immigration 2 weeks ago looking for updates and they gave him the run around like usual and gave him a hard time making it seem like there was a problem with his application, then low and behold a week later he received his COPR in the mail and landed yesterday, which means his was processed in 16 months, and my boyfriend is still waiting for his papers in the mail *fingers crossed they come this month*. Calling immigration does nothing but frustrate people more. Stop getting yourselves and everyone else worked up with "assumed" information. The website says 16 months, that was updated on December 23, until it changes to 18 months just stay positive and hope for the best!

Agreed! There is no need to panic yet. Talking to the call center agents only aggravates the pain.

However as per the current trend in the forum, its mostly the people from visa exempt countries whose applications are being processed faster or maybe its just me assuming things.

I still have some faith left with the system. Immigration is not an easy process and takes time. Only thing what can be done is to wait and watch for a while more.

This is very likely as my boyfriend is from the UK. But who really knows. I personally think it all depends on the officer taking care of your case. But again, only time will tell.

Hello Mahendraaaaa - Have you sent your PP to CIC after receiving the PPR? if so, have you received it back? ... appreciate it if you could post your timeline from the day you sent your PP to the day you got back your PP. let me know if this is being tracked in a separate thread. Just need to know how much time they are taking to send the PP's back so i can manage my immediate travel plans effectively.

And yes, I got the Christmas present too! They just sent me a passport request.

You know what happened? I did an up-front medical on August 2015 and called the CIC a couple of weeks ago, in which they said they had not received my medicals (mine and my wife's). Being informed that there is usually a 3-month delay, I sent them an email this morning that I did my medicals and sent an email with the receipts. A couple of hours later, they sent me the passport request!

Moral of the story is, if you did up-front medical and it has been more than 3 months since, email them!

A similar case happened before too. They sent me a medical request, then I sent them an email saying that I already did 2 months earlier. They sent me a RPRF on the same day.

So, yeah, if you have been told by the CIC or anybody else to just wait until the CIC reaches back to you, don't. Call and/or email them.

anyone has idea what does mean by cec off rev in file location of GCMS?
i just got my gcms and it states CEC OFF REV under file location section since 9th october,2015.
before it was A900 from april and file was sent to second review.
any help would be appreciated.

My passport was received by Ottawa immigration on December 22, 2015, just before the holiday season. I made a script to check the status of the other envelope everyday, and it alerted me today that they already sent it back on January 5, 2016, and is on the way here. I am expecting it to arrive by the end of the day today, since it says it is already in my city this morning.

Timeline:
- PPR: 18 December 2015
- Passport sent: 19 December 2015
- Passport arrived: 22 December 2015
- Passport sent back: 5 January 2016
- Passport received: - expected today -
