My test was on the 13th and Oath on the 24th. As you can see from the timelines tables, I applied almost mid July and my application was transferred to local office in January... The whole process took about eight months,,, wish you all the best

Wow, congratulations! That's an amazing accomplishment for the Halifax CIC office. Your case must have been one of those one in a million type of case. :)

Thank you boasorte; Halifax held more than 5 ceremonies in the last ten days; there was 200+ new citizens on March 21 ceremony; on the 24th morning cermony, we were around 174. There is something behind the scene for all these ceremonies in just 10 days. Might be the preparation for the new bill!!!

It should not be a problem, however in recent years if you have a residency somewhere else it might question your residency in Canada and it could be looked at it from a prospective that your residency in Canada is a temporary it nature. Normally, these kind of questioning ends up with an RQ, or so or even an interview with a CJ to proof ties to Canada.

However, this is just my theory which built on what I have heard and seen so far, and each case will be different. For your friend it should not be a problem (if he does not have any criminal or other issues) as this period of time will not show on his Citizenship eligibility period.

Wow, that's a lot of people. When did you actually receive the letter for the test?
 
Applications received from July 2013 seems to be the time when CIC started processing faster. June 2013 applications are much slower in terms of processing time.

You are right, however that only applies to applicants from East Canada. No changes in processing for Western provinces!

I haven't been assigned one yet (according to CIC call person) but they expect it most likely to be Scarborough as that is the closest to me.

Hi tstarks,

My office is scarborough as well and haven't received any test notification yet :-[ :-[

I am surprised how come "yafayu" and "supadude" who applied and went into processing after you, already completed their oath way back in Jan/Feb 2014 and you and I haven't received any test letter yet.

Did you get any RQ or something? Have you travelled a lot?
