I worked for a company 6 years and then resigned 1 year ago now i want a ref. letter but my manager has been transferred to another branch, new manager does not want to give one coz he does not know me.What can i do? is it ok to get from my manager who transferred to other branch but with that branch letter head.

Hi,
have your previous manager talk to the new manager and then he would not have any issue regarding your references. Also, The HR department has your employment records and your new manager can give you a letter by refering to those. The reference letter should mention your duties and responsibilities but not how much your manager knows about you. (I accpet the fact that it is easy to get a reference letter when your manager knows you).
