Hi All,

I received an invite to the August 15th, 2023 draw in the CEC category. I started my job in late September 2022 and have not completed the full 1 year of Canadian work experience but I have received the points in my profile for the same. Does the system count months (instead of mandatory hours) by mistake/default? I used to work part-time when I was studying but I don't think we can get points for that. If I count part-time hours, then I do meet the mandatory hours.

Can someone who is sure of the above process clarify, please? Thanks a lot!

it's a systems bug. Accept the ITA and just wait until you get 1560 hours then submit the application. because you don't know when will be the next draw so don't decline. You have 60 days after accepting ITA so make sure when you get 1560 hour= 1 year, it doesn't pass 60 days.

Thanks for your response. Won't they (IRCC) count the hours from the day the invitation was sent i.e. 15th August 2023? Do you know of any success cases who have done this?

a lot of people did it, you can search in this forum. they count everything when you submit your application (hour, age, Ielts expiration date, etc )

My sister went through the same problem. As @luis.nv278 said, it's a system bug. My sister got ITA 35 days before completing her 1-year work experience. She started working on May 30th, got ITA third week of April. She gathered all the documents in the meantime, then got the employment letter just after May 30th and submitted her application.
