I'm an Israeli citizen being sponsored by my Canadian common law partner.

Here's our timeline so far:

September 9th 2014 - application (outland) sent to Mississauga.
September 10th 2014 - application received.
October 23rd 2014 - sponsorship approval and application sent to Tel Aviv.

Ecas status still showing "application received"

1. We received "applicant's name" application for permanent residence on September 10, 2014

2. Medical results have been received.

Is there anyone else who can share their experience and timeline through the Tel Aviv VO?

hello and welcome on the forum.
I applied on October 31st, so we are waiting for SA still.
Since my husband is canadian resident, we requested Ottawo visa office instead of Tel Aviv; but we don't know yet where they are going to send our file.

Hi guys!

I'm applying too!
We're still in the document collection and translation stages of our application sadly.

If you can please share:
1. What did you guys provide as proof that you were planning on moving to Canada?
2. What/who did you use to translate your documents?
We are both fluent in English and Hebrew so we have been translating ourselves and getting it approved by a notary public. Do you think this will be good enough?

Thank you for making this thread! I'm glad the waiting times aren't as crazy as I thought they were!

Hello All,

Cyprus resident being processed in Tel Aviv.

Sponsor approval today! 31 March 2015. The Israel office is the best in the world so hoping for a very quick process.
Would be very happy to share experiences with all of you and answer questions for people who have not yet submitted their application.

Translation of documents

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

- the English or French translation; and
- an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
- a certified copy of the original document.
Note: An affidavit is a document on which the translator has sworn, in the presence of a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the translator is living, that the contents of their translation are a true translation and representation of the contents of the original document. Translators who are certified members in good standing of one of the provincial or territorial organizations of translators and interpreters of Canada do not need to supply an affidavit.

Important information: Translations by family members are not acceptable.

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:

a commissioner of oaths (authority to certify varies by province and territory)
a notary public
a justice of the peace

Outside Canada:

a judge
a magistrate
a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living
Family members may not certify copies of your documents.

Hi,

You will not be able to see your ecas status until maybe a few days after you are approved as a sponsor. That is very normal, for me, I could see my ecas status the day CIC opened my file in Mississauga. So dont worry, when they open your file you will get an email, when they approve you as a sponsor and send it to tel aviv you will get an email or mail.
