I am June 12th, 2015 applicant and since February 22nd, 2016 when I received 2nd AOR for myself (the applicant), there has been no further communication from CIC. I ordered my last GCMS notes in July and there was no progress on my application at all and it looks like my medical is expired as well (that was done before sending out the complete appl. package).
I had a meeting with my MP yesterday and she said she would try to contact CIC to take a closer look at my file. Not sure if there is anything MP's are able to do speed up the processing but at least I tried. I also expressed my concerns about other applications submitted between Septmeber 2015 - April 2016 that are being approved.
Has anybody had good/bad experience with working with MP's?
Thank you everyone!

That's because your application is being processed by CPC-V, not CPC-M

From what I see on my notes, our file is being precossed by CPC-M...

When did you order the note? It's likely that CPC-V hasn't even open your file yet and that's why there's no trace. All files go through CPC-M initially but Mar-August 2015 apps were assigned to CPC-V

CPC-V still processing April applications, it will be you soon

I got my notes in July 28th. I have ordered them again and I expect to get my new notes at the end of this month.

Hi there everyone!

August applicant here! I haven't gotten anything after OWP (December) and AOR (March). My ECAS still shows Application Received.

Just have a few questions here:

1) I recently updated my passport and changed it to my married name. Do I need any special forms to submit or would a regular email is enough attaching my new passport?

2) My Open Work Permit will expire in February, should I apply for restoration or do I have an implied status since I am still awaiting for a decision on my permanent resident application?

Any help is very much appreciated. Thanking you in advance!

I think you should apply for OWP extension as that is what is giving you implied/legal status I believe. Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

1- Just send a copy of your updated passport via Case Specific Enquiry. Did you apply with your maiden name and are doing a legal name change? If so, you may want to review these posts here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/legal-name-change-during-the-pr-application-process-t191169.0.html

2- Given that you are an August 2015 applicant, I would wait until closer to the end of the year to apply for the the extension. Especially if you do not have any dependents. CIC agents should be returning from summer breaks and things should start picking up again. Several August applicants are starting to hear news. As long as CIC has your application for the extension before your current OWP expires you are fine. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=189&top=17

Thanks for the replies. I indicated on my application that I am already using my married name here. It's just my passport that is not in my married name. It takes a lot of time to renew my passport that's why. Even sent them copies of my IDs using my married name. Again, thank you!
