You have met the Federal requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence (APR) for your relative will be processed separately and he/she will be contacted shortly.

That is the SA?

That is sponsorship Approval. Your spouse should receive one that says:
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. ...

You should order your GCMS notes. You will be able to see what doubts they have about your relationship. An individual in the FB group received the same letter of transfer and after getting his notes he was able to gather additional documents and sent it to them to prove his relationship. He got DM without having to do the interview. You might want to take that route.

The sponsor gets SA and the Applicant gets AIP. They normally come within in a short pace of each other but since your application was transferred you did not receive the AIP letter.

I'm foggy on this too.

I know that SA happens before AIP, but they essentially happen at the same time.

What prevents them from happening together?

Presumably all that is done after SA but before AIP is to simply determine what additional documents are required. So what, if anything, could hold that up?

The additional documents request (like medical, or police checks) usually comes after AIP.

SA is only the approval of the sponsor. For the applicant to then receive AIP, CIC must determine that the applicant is in a genuine relationship (including cohabiting with their sponsor, if a Common-Law couple) which takes a bit more time. How much more time...? Who knows!

In the old days (before mid-2014) people would receive SA and AIP almost simultaneously like clock work. Now, it's anyone's guess as to how/when it is sent.

I guess I am one of the last people who are still waiting from Jan 2014.
Medical, police check, fees all upfront.. No criminal record, no red flags.
GCMS does not show anything particular.. everything looks normal..

Called call centre, but they can't provide me any info..

I am just beyond frustrated..

Never knew this would be my case...

Have you tried your MP, and/or the Case Specific Enquiry?
