As I can't believe what happened to me, I checked my e-cas. And as you guys know, nothing has changed yet. Ahhhh.

@ sounion

@ Alurra71
I hope your day is coming soon!

@ RebeccaF & Deedeedar
Congrats on your AIPs. I hope your DMs are soon!

Thank you Tomorisu!

I hope so ;D

I checked my e-cas but nothing has changed yet as well. Emails came first. By the way I have to re-do my meds which approx $400 in Calgary.
Oh well...I can't complain much, can I?

Hope you get yours shortly! Good luck!

Deedar,

I also did my medicals quite a long time ago. Did they actually specifically ask you do redo your medicals? I can't remember exactly when I did them.

@RebeccaF

Yes, they did! They sent me a form to re-do my meds as well so I'll try to book it tomorrow.
I did my meds long time ago when I extened my visitor visa first time (before I applied PR actually)

@Screech339

Thank you so much for your nice feedback...I wish I did not have to be so anxious by seeing lot of early December applicants are getting their AIPs & DMs ...I certainly do not want any bad unexpected happen on my app. but I could not help worrying what would CIC response to it when my hubby is still waiting for approval from EI system, which means he is not receiving EI benefits yet....having my fingers crossed ....

No reporting need to be done. EI and long term disability are not social assistance. So nothing to worry about.

@ Sounion

I am appreciated for your opinion...I would just follow through what Screech339 and my hubby's opinion not to have this reported...and hope the best...congratulation to your AIP and DM ...truly wish I could have a good news from CIC like you guys.... :)

Definitely agree. My wife went on EI and CIC is fine with it. EI is NOT considered social assistance, as it is actually something every Canadian employee pays for in their taxes. In essence, you are getting what you paid returned to you, not taking from the system. Definitely needs to be reported though. And remember, you can sponsor someone even if you don't have an income. Good luck with everything, I hope this helps with any anxiety or stress.

Congrats RebeccaF and Deedeedar on your good news!!!!!!! I love how often I am getting to type congrats these days :)

As for what it says online, mine didn't change til the next day or so. But when it did it included my interview date!!!!!!!!!! Keep checking it, it may hold an extra surprise :)

Contrats to all who get AIP, OWP, DM.

I'm waiting for official letter for my OWP for almost one month!
Even though I have OWP right now, I can't work
because I can't have temporary SIN without the letter.
Anybody who get the letter these days??
Thanks

Ah okay! I didn't get a form, so hopefully that means my medicals are still up-to-date! :) Thanks Deedar!

You can't get your hopes up *too* much, but a lot of DMs have come pretty quickly after AIP lately. Hoping you're one of them, and get good news soon!

Hi, so if you send the medical exam with ur application. It would be more likely that you will get both at the same time. I really wish i send medical with my app. Im still waiting for my AIP so I can get a medical letter. Hahay..very excited for good news...

You do not have to re-do your meds, right? So you got DM quickly.
I wonder for those who have to re-do meds like me...have to wait for other 8 months to get DM.
Or does anyone who has to re-do meds and get DM shortly as well?

Thanks sounion :)

Deedar, since it looks like I won't have to redo my meds, I'll keep you posted on when I get my DM. Hopefully they won't delay your application for that long just because meds were "old". Fingers crossed for both of us! :-D

Random question someone may know the answer to:

If I for some reason don't get my DM anytime soon (just got AIP today), but I get my OWP, am I legally allowed to leave and re-enter the country, even though my application is still processing, or will they give me a hard time upon re-entry?
My sister is getting married in March, and I definitely *need* to go! :)

Fingers crossed for both of us and all the 2012 applicants ;)

No I didn't have to redo them. Don't know if you have to wait 8 months as a result. Hoping for a speedy result for you though.

OWP doesn't grant you the ability to leave the country, no. It actually says that on it. If you do leave, your implied status that covers you from your AIP is revoked and you will go back onto visitor status which will need to be extended while your PR is in process. Again, you might be able to leave and come back just fine, but they will need to issue you a visitors visa for 6 months once you come back. And of course they can always deny you re-entry. Honestly, the PR limbo BLOWS.

Are you American by chance (not sure due to the flag on your avatar)? I've heard it's easier to travel when you are from a visa exempt country. Sorry if this reply dampens your spirits. Not my intention.
