Just got off the phone again with cic after a few days if trying to update my address...

He said no update on the file but said to expect aip the end if next month...I'll believe it when I see it but here's hoping,

With you on that. I too called CIC and was told to expect my first stage before October 1st. So here's to hoping too.

I'm not optimistic because they haven't
passed my date yet?
I mean any change is welcome cause I didn't

word or consistency for anything!
I feel I'm so very close but yet so far!!
I only sent my application for work permit in
two weeks ago. I asked that it be attached
to my file, hopefully it gets attached
before they start working on my file.
The idea of any more wait time is making
my hair fall out!


And Jolly1, as Screech said, I received an email with my AIP letter attached. ECAS was updated the next business day (letter received on a Friday, ECAS showed update on Tuesday after a holiday). However, from what I've read on the forum, CIC is not at all consistent about updating ECAS quickly or regularly. Some have finished the process without ECAS updating, while some like me received very fast ECAS updates.

we started this process I thought that the entire
process will be OVER by now.
I had many promising thoughts of me and
the hubby lying on a beach In Grenada enjoying
Life!!

But I finally got mail from CIC that there's going to be an interview for my and my wife next week at etobicoke office.
Finally got something going on, so I'm happy
Anyone had any experience in etobicoke office interview?

Just missed that deadline (apps received Oct 25 and after are subject to the two year conditional PR). C'est dommage! Gonna have to stick with that partner of yours for at least two years after PR.

(That's a JOKE! I tease my husband that I'm good to go by two days; I'm going to get my PR and them -BOOM- move to English Canada!)

*hugs* I'm sorry for the long wait. I know it's been hell. Good news is trickling in regularly now, though. I think yours is coming very soon!

I am assuming you submitted your medical and police check with your application as well.

We have been living together for 2 years and together for almost 5 (including 1.5 years long distance between Calgary and the UK). I hope we will cope. He's going through so much just for little old me!

I just want a vacation, on a beach or something. not being able to leave the country is the worst part!...and maybe the no health care part too!

And yes submitted all police checks and medical at the same time. Lived in the Czech Republic for a year so had to get a check from there as well as the UK.

Since you are getting an interview before AIP status, it is probably just an interview to clear up any issue on information on the application. Usually once the interview is done and agent is satified with the interview, you usually get AIP at that point.

Thanks for the feedback. My wife had to get US police check (FBI record) along with her albania police record. We lived in US for 4 years before moving to Canada.
