Initial PR Card Not Received (8+ months)

Hi,
I landed in Toronto on January 31 2020. I have not received my initial PR card yet. I faxed the Solemn Declaration document on April 03 2020(6 weeks+ post processing time) . I have not received any response thereafter. Now, It's more than 180 days, do I have to re-apply for the card or wait for the submitted solemn declaration to be processed? I did raise a webform but did not receive any positive response. I understand that due to COVID situation, the processing timelines have increased. However, I am clueless if I have to wait or re-apply. Has anyone faced this situation before? Any suggestions?

I'm Chelsea and I am in the same boat with you!

My husband and I first landed in Canada this January, but until now we haven't received our PR card. We filed the Solemn Declaration this March for a new PR card but until now we didn't get any confirmation if the IRCC has received or proceed our Solemn Declaration. (We got confirmation via UPS that the Solemn Declaration was received in April by a guy at the PR card center).

We are currently outside Canada, so the only way we can contact IRCC is via WebForm. However, all the replies via WebForm are so general and no positive inputs were received.

Have you got any update from IRCC regarding your solemn declaration? Could you please kindly share with me if there is any better way to contact IRCC beside WebForm for this matter? I understand that if we don't receive the PR card over six months, we need to re-apply; however, since we are outside Canada, we can't re-apply; so should we await further for IRCC to process the solemn declaration?

Hi Chelsea,
The situation is still the same. I am unable to track the status of the solemn declaration and now not even receiving any response for the webforms.
Last time when I called IRCC to check if I have to reapply, I was told not to, since I have already submitted solemn declaration. I would suggest you contact IRCC on phone again. If you are looking for a way to re-enter Canada, you could apply for PRTD document. ( https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5529-applying-permanent-resident-travel-document.html ) . Hope this helps.

I am in the same boat. Landed on May 18th at Toronto and six months have been passed but not received my initial PR card. After first web form IRCC asked for new photographs as per specification, which I submitted 45 days ago but till now no PR card. And there were four friends with me in my flight and they all have got their PR cards in less than 45 days and mine is not yet received more than 180 days have passed. Any idea what’s going on?

I finally received my PR card today . I wrote to the immigration ministry explaining my situation and my urgent need to travel. They promptly responded in a week about the whereabouts of my PR card and got it by post today.

May I check with you:
1. Which "immigration ministry" you are referring to? (I suppose you are not referring to IRCC via Webform?)
2. What is the contact information for the "immigration ministry"?
3. how did they respond to you (by phone or by email)?

I would appreciate it so much if I could have more detailed inputs on this matter to follow accordingly.

I'm still awaiting the cards...really worn out...Hope to have your kind guidance over this situation!!!

One of my friend insisted on writing to the minister office. I found the contact details on the web (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/minister.html) and sent an email to address mentioned in the link regarding my emergency situation and that I'm unable to track the progress of solemn declaration form. They responded in a week's time by email that my PR card was mailed to my address on the XY date and that I will get it soon.

Hi guys. My wife became a PR on March 10, 2021 but still hasn't received her PR card. We've sent numerous forms but are getting the same reply that due to COVID processing times are slower than normal.
