my mom applied on May 7th and didn't hear anything back from the embassy. She did paper application. Says still Iin process. She didn'toverstay last ttime. I didn't know y it'staking so llong.

My Entry Visa has expired and I would like to apply for a fresh Multiple Entry Visa. Can someone please help me figure out the process? I have tried the CIC website's online application facility but it takes me to the application where I need to apply for a fresh Visitor Visa. This includes giving a Letter of Invitation from a family member in Canada, taking a medical test and so on. I know that there is way to just apply for Visa using the current work permit as a document attached but I don't know how to get there.

Any help is appreciated!

Hello Kishore,

For now that is the only option how TRV can be applied online even if you have valid WP. When I was in your situation couple of years back, my company used to send paper application to obtain an entry visa.

Application submitted - April 23rd
Letter of passport request - May 12th
Passport send and reached May 14th
Final decision - online status updated to Approved - May 29th
Passport Reached - June 6th.

Hello All,

I had applied for Canadian PR thru FSWP and received an approval. I haven't landed yet in Canada but entry visa is stamped and valid till 30th Dec 2015.

1. I would like to apply for a visitor visa for my Mother. She lives with me in Hyderabad India. I was wondering would it be advisable to apply for a visitor visa for her on premise that I would like to take her along with me since she is alone? I am going to submit my visa, my bank statement, her bank statement along with application to prove the financial status.

2. I see two options
- Apply Online
- Apply Paper.

I did the eligibility check and I got a reference number. I logged into mycic website, created gc key, and imported the application using the reference number.

Now it is showing me list of documents to be uploaded. I have all the documents ready to upload. Before I upload and submit the application I was wondering what happens next?

- How long it normally takes to get a decision? Is online faster or paper application through VFS is faster?
- If the visa is approved, where will I submit the passport?

Please can anyone advise?
