I have applied in Feb 2010. Tommorrow i will complete 5 months since i got my 2nd file number. The letter for 2nd AOR states that if i dint hear anything from CHC London within 8 months from the date of that latter i should contact them. Should i wait untill then or should i go for CAIPS notes.

inshAllah last 2 weeks of jan and the whole feb 2011 months are important, just wait till the LAST WEEK of Feb 2011.. and Do praying always. No need to apply caipsnotes on this time but you can send case sapecific Inquiry to chc london.

You are very true in saying that first two months of year 2011 are the most crucial ones. We need to pray alot for a positive and timely communication from CHC London.

One small query. I have hired a consultant for filing my case. Can i send a case specific enquiry without letting the consultant know about this? Can we send a mail to them?

No problem for this you can send case specific inquiry any time , you must mention your full file number and name/date of birth in the subject bar.

Ask about your case that almost you have completed 8 months and you submitted your documents in feb 2010, almost after 1 week chc london will reply you inshallah.

Its just interdepartmental codes,file brought forwarded from one to another department or person.

Obtain your CAIPS notes for free

As a prospective immigrant to Canada, you probably know that you can follow the progress of your application through your CAIPS notes, which several companies can obtain for you for a fee. It's however less well known that you can save the fee, usually ranging from US$30-100, by ordering the notes yourself.

CAIPS, for the uninitiated, stands for Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System, the software used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Canadian diplomatic missions to track visa applications.

To obtain your CAIPS notes, you do need to know someone living in Canada, either a citizen or a permanent resident, who will be willing to mail the request for you. If you already in Canada, you can however send in the application yourself.

A Canadian citizen living abroad can also send in the application on your behalf, but there is a C$5 fee in this situation.

(Note: An In-Canada applicant can also obtain their FOSS notes using the same procedure as detailed here).

First off, you need to download the application form. You will find this at the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website at this link:

Yes, u can with your 1st AOR. but, it won't be useful @ this stage... CAIPS is good once the case has delayed much & gone overboard.

please guide me if I need to apply for CAIPS at this stage. I have emailed London VO last week regarding the lateness of my 2nd AOR and I got this reply:

Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your enquiry.

No further action is required by you at this time. We will contact you again if we require further information or when we are ready to proceed to the next stage of your application.

Do you think it is wise to apply for caipsnote now? (as yet, I did not get my 2nd AOR and it is almost 5 months since I sent my full documents)
