i have PR card and it is gonna be expired in March 1th 2011 i applied for the citizenship in july 2010 and i expect for the processing take 16 months since my PR card expired before this time the questions are :

can i send my application for renew my PR card now before it is expired by 5 months especially the time take for the processing renew PR card 7.5 months?

can i travel out of Canada during the time of processing of My PR card renew and i expect to come back before it is expired ?

Yes, you can apply for a new PR card before your old PR card expires. Since your old one is not expired yet, you do not have to send it in with your application and can use it to travel until its expiry date.
