I lost my SIN card and in order to renew it I need to prove Im a PR but all I have at the moment is a expired PR card. And in order to get a VOS document it will take up to six months. I also cant go back and look at old records to find out the number. Any ideas how to go about this if time is tight? I had one before, would they except the expired PR card for Proof of residency?

Do you have your confirmation of permanent residence document or the record of landing? This is the document the officer would have given you the day you did your "landing".

Do you work and file taxes? Your SIN will be on payslips, T4 or notice of assessment.

Lastly, you should report the SIN card as lost/stolen. Someone can open new bank accounts, credit cards, etc in your name and potentially ruin your credit.
