I really dont understand this ...If they were not sure of the background checks why would they charge 490$ for printing visa .This is bull shit ..i am really getting annoyed with CPP-O ..We all should stand together and call someone who can take out case .

Thank you for sharing the information. And I'm sorry for my mad comment. I do not understand why they make people who are working for Canada go through all this long waiting. My situation is different. I am a student in US and need to extend my visa now. Except of a payment for 1 year study I have to show my valid passport and I do not have it... Just afraid to loose my legal status here and get nothing from Canada..
Hi, did you send any return envelop with passports from USA?

No. They allow to send a returned envelope only inside Canada, and only with Canada post. So I am expecting to get it by regular mail with no tracking what scares me a lot.

Same here, such an important document and they don't bother to send it through secure mail service, where I could track it, I wish they ask for few more dollars and send my pports through fedex or ups. it is almost six weeks now.

Landed today and became PR at Lacolle border, QC.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :p :p :p :p :p

The process is pretty simple and no worries.

A little heads up for everybody the US guys r pretty freaked out due to
the recent incidents so be polite even if they show some attitude.

Also take your bank statements and CSQ (only for quebec applicants).
These r the most important documents after ur PP. They did not even look at
my work permit. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't take it wid u.

My advice take all ur docs.......and always keep a big smile on ur face.

Good Luck Guys!!!

Are you working now in Canada? What is the funds requirement for people who are already in Canada? If I am living in Canada and I am not working now, do I need to show the funds in bank statement while landing?

Congrat Newbie! Are you in the USA? Did you use the AVR? Why bank statement is the most important for QSW? Isn't bringing the required amount as cash or other forms enough? Thanks.

I m in Montreal and working overhere. There is some amount that you have to declare when u file for CSQ. I dont remember the exact amount but it was somewhere around $2800-$3800.Any amount more than this is sufficient for do the landing. Also in that declaration that it is mentioned that you will not go on welfare for 3 months. So u have to prove the immigration officer at the time of landing that you will not go on Welfare as soon as you become PR.

I am not sure about the ppl who r living abroad but I guess it is similar to the amount mentioned above.

For people who are abroad and do outland application, the requirement is around 11000$ for one person. Is it not the same for people who are in Canada as well? Did they ask you for your employment proof? Can you just share how much amount you had in your bank statement? Did they ask you how much funds you are carrying?
