Regarding the Option C printout:

My husband (sponsor) called up the CRA number posted on the guide and they were asking him like a past address that he doesn't recall anymore ( they say its for security purposes) and so they gave him a fax number where he can just fax the request. But the numbers not working. Is there any other way to get the print out - an office he can go to directly in BC? Or any other fax number he can fax them the request?

Try calling and speaking with another rep and get them to ask you other questions. I couldn't answer a lot of the questions they had for me but they just kept trying and asking me a bunch of different things.
Does he have a notice of assessment with his previous address or can he google map the house and find the exact house number etc?

ms. pelipeli to what address did u send ur application?

If you dont mind me asking, what kind of question do they ask? I will be calling to request my print out very soon so I was wondering what to expect. Thanks :)

I called them myself a few times. They ask for your SIN, address, phone number, employer, a amount that is in your last notice of assessment to make sure you are who you say you are. If the info you give is not matching their records they will ask further to see if you make more mistakes. But generally they are really easy going and helpful.

if you have your last couple notice of assessments accessible you'll be golden. They normally ask questions about your previous tax returns. They've asked me, who I filed with if i remember the name of the service I used. Or if I filed online. How much my refund was. My previous address and my current address, Social Insurance Number, date of birth, Employers Name. Those sort of questions :)
I said I don't know to a few of them and they just kept coming up with others.

Another question:

Do we still need to send a scanned copy of the sponsors passport (old and new) and visa (permanent resident visa attached in the passport)?

The more the merrier.

I think you did a great job on your application.

One thing, though...I wonder if you've gone a bit overboard? I mean, if I was the VO, I might think this is a bit too much. Think about all the time for unbinding those paper clips and sticky labels. Don't get me wrong, I think you are very organized, but I just wonder if it's too much.

My dad's friend works for CIC (he just remembered this now!!! after weeks of preparation!!!)...his friend said that the best way is to send ALL FORMS loose...no binding at all, as that will only create more work for the VO reviewing the application. It's best to simply include some form of document list for each set of forms...that way, all the VO needs to do is flip through all the documents and reference the list. He went on to say that some VOs, when faced with a mountain of documents, will take longer to process the application...if everything is concise and complete, processing times will be much shorter.

Just some helpful advice to others reading this thread.

Is this a good friend? Could you ask your dad to pump his friend for useful info and handy tips for us applicants? Anything the officers really look for? Or conversely consider a flaming red flag?

Already asked...my dad is out of town on business, so when he gets back I'll try to get more info...

overboard? I suggest you read around more , find those posts with applications sent in a BOX instead of an envelope. Then come back here and tell me I've gone overboard.
The clips - not considered binding, im not the first one to use them. Sticky labels? Again, I am not the first one to use them. As I have said, read around more.
Believe me, I spent months reading around, not just in this forum, before I even started getting our application together and I know better than to do something that would work against our application.
If anything, I am trying to make the VO's life a little easier when they finally open and work on that package.
