Please,For those of you over there ,how do you manage to get your drug there? Is there an access were someone can get free drug? In my home country we don't pay for drug, drugs are free in my country.
well, with the information I heard, it depends on the province you are going to some are free and some are not

This group is too silent...Why is nobody giving answers to newbie here .we also need info to prepare ourselves
Could be because there's not a lot of members with experience on such issues. The most active and senior members probably don't have HIV so do not have any info to share.

Dito na ako sa Calgary, Alberta. First schedule ko sa hub dito was last Sept 26. Had my blood tests-IGRA, VL, CD4 and dami pang other tests. Libre lahat basta meron ka nang Alberta Health Card. Free refill din. Sa first na punta ko sa hub is kinausap ako regarding sa history and background ko. May social worker at nurse na kakausap sa yo.
What about if im going to canada for work not student pathway is it the same?can i still go and work to canada?

Hi. It depends on the province where you will be going. Here, in Alberta, HIV drugs and tests are free as long as you have Alberta Health Card.

Let us not worry about getting permanent resident for now. I, being here already in Canada, believe that there is a great chance for us to be PR soon. There is no discrimination here.

I'm from Nigeria. My case is very complex.

I got my medical request on Oct 10 2021. Because I've had tuberculosis before, I was recommended for a sputum test. That takes two months for a result to be available so I didn't get any news till November. I passed.

By January 2022, I did a follow up x-ray and all my results were sent back to IRCC. I thought I was done but a week later, they sent back a new prompt, asking me to visit a pulmonary specialist and get evaluated by them. They also said to submit a report. I did all of that and submitted it by Feb 18 2022.

My medicals changed from "we have requested a medical examination" to "medicals under review". I didn't hear anything till June 2022 when I was given a Procedural Fairness letter because my medication cost more than what public healthcare allows for a year. They gave me 60 days to make a healthcare plan and address the concerns. It was very complicated but I did it. I was thinking I wouldn't hear from them till April only to see my medicals passed yesterday. So yeah, it's an unusual case.
Hello I don’t know if you will receive this , incase you please respond am from Nigeria and in same situation I will need guide line on how to handle this situation, thank you

Throughout my application journey, I always, everyday & night pray to Jesus & God to guide me every step of the way. It’s all because of Him.

Helpful tips:
1. Upon medical, i disclosed to the doctor that I am an HIV positive & have been medicating since last year.
2. I requested a confirmatory result in my clinic as requested too by St. Lukes.
3. Im under agency, i never disclosed my health status regarding hiv to my agent/agency.
4. I never mentioned any details regarding my hiv status in my SOP either.
5. I already had my visa stampped last week. I havent received any further instruction, nor monitoring letter that i need to go to any clinic in Canada upon arrival.

-Already booked my flight this 2nd week of December btw. Thanks for this thread. Following this thread since March this year gives me great hope on my application because of those previously approved story here.

Fighting!

To anyone that got refused or still waiting on results or to those who will just lodge soon, keep the FAITH - Stronger. Seek God's help.

Hello everyone, I just found out my hiv positive result today from iom I was called and talk to. But I’ve submitted my application and upfront late last month even did biometric today. The doctor said it was every low in me, the virus. I didn’t even have any symptoms and it is good it was detected now so I can get on the drugs right away and get undetectable asap. Coming back home and going through this thread I just realized I wasn’t told anything on like cd4 or viral load. Will I know that after I start taking the drugs

My question is since my file is already with ircc how do I tell them know I plan on shipping the drugs every three months( I have gone through the thread to know the drug can be shipped)

Will this new test results affect my proof of funds now? I use an agent for my process and I don’t want him or anyone to know now for privacy reasons. It’s all new to me I don’t even want to start thinking and get stressed and depressed now I just want this visa process to be over first,

secondly I will be going to Regina at Saskatchewan what is the policy there what can I expect. Please I don’t know the questions to ask now it’s all new to me never had this kind of shock in my life. But please if you are at Saskatchewan or any provinces that know what it is like in Sask and you know where am I going with the questions please help me with a response please I beg you. I appreciate your reply thank you
Hello do you mine if we can exchange emails and talk am in the same situation and don’t want to disclose to agent also
