Hi there. We share exact timelines. My sputum test was in October 26, 27 and 28. My final xray was on January 20 and I was referred to the pulmonary specialist who cleared me around February. I also had my health information (CD4 count and undetectability status) sent to IRCC alongside the specialist report.

Since February 18, I haven't received any updates. Just my medical status changing from "an action is required" to "medical under review". It's been 3 months and 2 weeks.

I've sent mails, web forms, used an MPs office and ordered my GCMS file. I keep getting told my application is "under review" and "in queue for processing". I don't think I've ever been this frustrated in my life.
Same with me. Its been 1 month already since i passed all my medical requirements. Have you approve already?

I guess every international student is suppose to get a health insurance. For my Montreal University, the university provided insurance from Blue Cross. The blue cross covers the prescription drugs costing till 7500CAD for the first year.
I did mention this in my SOP. I even mentioned that any other additional expenses will be done by me.
So i guess things worked out for me.
Everyone who wants to apply for Visa, please look into the insurance that your university is providing. Talk to someone in university who can find out about the coverage provided by that insurance. My university resources helped me a lot in this regard.
Hi Gipps do we have to mention on SOP that I Am HIV positive or just about the medications?

I am not aware of much but can suggest you to research about the treatment or medication cost you are presently taking with its equilency to Canadian medical care and also discuss with your doc if it affects people and society around you. As these are 2 factors IRCC takes in consideration while looking at a case.

Hi there.

I was diagnosed HIV+ in late 2015 and have been on treatment with tenofivir/lamivudine/efavirenz since then, with undetectable viral load as well as CD4 count above 500. I have been on a balance diet, working out frequently and keeping myself healthy despite my condition.

I too want to study in Canada for at least one year and afterwards obtain a PGWP to work one more year. However, I fear having my request denied. This is frustrating and gets me really down to think that had I not ever got infected my life would be a lot easier.

Please share your experiences. Have you managed to get a study permit in the same conditions?

Unfortunately a rejection. Likely not HIV related.

Thanks for you prompt reply Gipps ...!! This gives me a huge relief. Would you mind sending me PM as I need to ask you about the process. Where u from and what ART regime you are on ? Did you declared about your condition upfront in the Medicals? Did you received any futherance letter from high commission? How did you replied to that letter ? Which country you applied from?
I am sorry , I asked you so many questions. But I am very keen to do another masters in Canda and settle there ...waiting for your reply,
Regards,
Amrit.

Guys to people who had came thru with an agency . Did you disclose your hiv status to any agent? or did you just disclose it on the medical? Has there at any chance to know your status to the agent that handled you if you will hide to them? I'm in my preparation now for the January 2023 Intake for student. Please give me an insight, Thank you.
Hello,
Any update on your visa application? I have the same question.

Hello,
I just diagnosed and started treatment this April(CD4 above 500) and planning to go to Canada to study thia Sept. 2022. Do you think it would be possible bro? Your responce will be much appreciated bro.
Hi all, first of all I want to thank you each one of you for being helpful to so many people out there as there is lilttle to no information is there on such topic I wish I would have found this thread much earlier.

I am also planning to study in Canada below are my questions.

1. You guys applied with the help of agents or this can be done on our own?

2. I have done my Bcom(Honours) and MCom from India (commerce) which course should I select as I have already done my masters in India.

2. I am still in dilemma if would be eligible to get PR after my studies are completed?
