Btw my AINP file no is xxxxxx-34x

I sent AINP an e-mail to update my mailing address. They replied saying they processed my case and sent the certificate on Dec 29th 2008. My number is -0282. How many days does it take for the mail to arrive?

Current approval number is 282

Congrats to bendjoe and Jay007.

Both of you got nominated the same day. It looks like they are approving about 5 applicants per day (278 to 282).

Were there any contacts by the AINP between the full application received date and the nomination date for anything like needed more docs or something is filled wrong etc.?

Did they contact your employers?

Good luck with the next step (CIC).

They did not contact me or my employer. It was trouble free.
Good Lucks

Wow,
Congrats to you on getting the file number!

And that was fast!! You got through with pre-assessment in 2 weeks? Unbelivable!! It's been 6 weeks for me and I am still waiting to get the application packet!

Did you ask them expediate or ....it was just a matter of being lucky?

Congrats and good luck to us all

They have explicitly asked us not to contact them for status as it will only lengthen the process, so I did not ask them at all. I kept waiting for an e-mail approval, and the paper invitation package was sitting in my mailbox :( I only got to it after the T'giving break. I would have saved a bunch of time had I looked earlier. Anyway, am not complaining .... these people seem to work at jet speed compared to USCIS ;)

Anyway, their process seemed to have slowed down during end of Dec, and they have picked up steam again. Also, they are in transition to the revised (no-preassessment) process. I am sure you will get your invitation in your USPS mailbox soon. Make sure you keep checking your snail-mail, they do not send anything via e-mail in response to pre-assessment.

So the file number from AINP is only snail-mailed and not emailed? Is all correspondence from AINP received only in snail-mail? Has any one got an email response from AINP during the process?
Thanks!

Manny,

Sorry for getting you confused. I was only talking about the pre-assessment step.

Approval of pre-assessment which is an invitation to apply for AINP is a package sent in the mail. They do not send e-mails of successful pre-assssment anymore.

Receipt of AINP application and the file number is sent via e-mail.

Hope this makes it clear.

There is no pre-assessment "stage" now. The process changed mid-December. Applicants submitting pre-assessment one-pager were asked to submit all forms (AINP 009 plus CIC forms) directly to AINP. Following that, AINP verifies the docs submitted and then sends out the file number. I think this stage when they get our forms and reply with file number is now becoming slightly longer as they must be doing some level of filtering at this stage (as there is no pre-assessment any longer).

And thanks for the clarification - so I will keep looking for an email from AINP with my file number. I submitted all forms end of Dec.
