Apply any time you want but if you get married before you land as a PR, you must let them know. Even if they have already issued you the PR visa when you get married, you must send your passport back to them to let them know and they would then cancel your visa and issue a new one later to you and your wife. If you have no problems proving that you did not live together before marriage, then there is also no problem if you land as a PR before you marry to sponsor her later. You would have to be in Canada to sponsor her though and she might not get a TRV to join you so you would be apart.

Your plan of applying in October and then informing them when you get married in December should work out fine. Then you and your wife will get your PR visas at the same time and can go together to Canada.

Thanks Leon,

You really made my day. You are right I am planning to apply by October and then get married in December 8, 2010. I will have her police certificate ready by marriage in India so we can send it right away after coming to US. Again thanks

Hey Guys,

I received my nomination letter today and will be moving to the next CIC stage. I'm still waiting for my police certificate from both US and my home country. Once I receive them I will send out all documents to Buffalo. Thanks.

Congratulations! I am still waiting for mine.

I really hope whoever is waiting gets it too..

If any one is moving with the CIC application and wants to work on it together, let me know..

Nomad, yes, I attended UVA for grad school (Go Cavs). Are you a Cavalier/Wahoo as well??

Well here's my story:
I was driving down the beautiful mountains of the Appalachia one day, and I arrived at C'ville. I looked at Thomas Jefferson's univ and thought to myself - this looks good, but there's definitely got to be something better than this. I kept driving on I-81 S and sure enough there it was!.... :P.... just kidding.
Yep, am a proud Hokie!

Ouch!!!! That hurts!!! Tell you what though... a good number of my classmates at Mr. Jefferson's Univ were hokies, and they seemed normal....so I guess hokies are alright....go Ho....ooooos....lol. No offence taken by the way.

you're a good sport. good luck with your CIC process. let me know if you need any help. i don't claim to know all the rules, but i can definitely tell you what i did to get my PR.

It's been a long wait. It's very funny. My immigration representative called me to tell me the good news while I was talking to AINP officer over the phone. I heard the beep and there was a thought of the officer forwarding me to the voice message as they are tired of this type of inquiring. BTW, I never called the AINP before.
