So here is my conundrum...

I sent CPP-O my 2012 T4 and an updated employment letter on March 29. I know many members have said that CPP-O does not respond, but I sent them a reminder on April 19 anyway, to see if they had received my docs. I got a response the same day saying that they could not find a note on my file indicating that they had, and I should send them again. Needless to say, I sent the same docs again immediately (April 19).

Then I decided, I don't trust CPP-O, so I followed up again on April 24. Today (April 26) I received another reply saying that they could not trace the two documents so I should send them once again....which I have.

So it seems there is no guarantee CPP-O adds documents to our files. I'm 0/2 so far. Are there any recommendation on how I can get through to them? Should I just mail the documents over?

Hi Spooky,

Yep, its strange that when you send them the docs, they are not confirming it back with an email. I wonder if your email is getting blocked somehow, because of attachments? Because they are responding to you when you just ask them to confirm your updated docs on file. Are you sending your docs as pdf?

When i renewed my passport, i sent CPP-O a scanned copy of my passport pages (pdf). They responded to me the next day acknowledging the receipt of documents and confirming that my file is now updated.

I sent the docs on this email:
OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca

Not really sure why they are not getting your email with the attachments.

Maybe it is getting blocked. Can you tell me what the size of your attachments was. Maybe my attachments are too big. But I always get an automated response sayingmy email has been received.

Well, CPP-O does not always acknowledge the receipt of documents. I had sent a few additional docs in separate instances, and got reply only once that the doc has been attached to my file.

Re: your case, I believe the receipt of automated email shows that the email was delivered. Unless the docs are of huge size (>5 MB), there is no reason that it would be bounced off/filtered in their email server.

I would suggest that you sent them another mail attaching the docs again, as well as the automated email receipt to confirm that you have already sent them the docs earlier too. You don't want to get penalized because of some freaking IT system issue!! Did you consider sending them the hard copies through post?

Hi Spooky,

The pdf attachment I sent was less than 1MB.

But I'd agree with JB, dont just rely on email. Specially, if its a time sensitive issue, I'd suggest mailing it through expresspost with tracking.

Thanks guys. I will send the docs by post as well. I'm also going to attempt to send them from an alternate email address. Maybe that'll get it to them.

Would there be a problem emailing docs from an email address that is different from the one I had put down on my application?

What would be the mailing address ? I am also planning to send an additional document.
