If I ever make it to Canada I pledge to never vote liberal.
I have never in my life showed inequality to anyone based on race, languages or their skills when someone mailed their resumes or asked for a reference but canada taught me that's not how canada is. me gonna play both sides, use politics to take advantage. cause why not?

Wow..! so Liberals will grant even more free points to make unqualified people qualified in the express entry system so that Liberals can get more votes from them in the future. Eduardo will be happy with this news. :)

Jokes aside, I'll probably wear a conservative tshirt all day every day in Canada for a while. Canada should stop selling education by using its immigration system as a carrot on the stick. CEC and PNP programs are already giving an insane amount of extra points to in-canada applicants. It is impossible to become a FSW-O applicant without having an 8 out of 9 from IELTS, a master's degree, at least 3 years of professional experience, certain amount of financial resources and being younger than 30-32.

It appears liberals will only see an outlander as an equal to an in-canada cleaner if the outlander has a doctorate, speaks 5 languages with at least 5 years experience as a CEO of an international company. God.. Liberals really need to go.. This is crazy.
To be very honest, it was during Conservatives that this idea of increasing the weightage of "Canadian Experience" was introduced and executed. Actually during those days (in 2015 or so), you could get 600 points for an arranged employment in Canada. Yes, it was this insane.

Canada was only a worthwhile option because they used to offer a direct path to permanent residency. If you have to go to school again anyway, it is a far far better option to go to europe. Most of western europe (France, Germany, and Norway for example although Norway isn't in the EU) has pathways to residency which is contingent on getting a work permit post education. Canadian education is not worth it. At all.
ay man where you at? ain't seeing you around much. you alright ? did you watch yesterday's stream? hehe

Canada all of a sudden doesn't look so appealing to me anymore even if I get the PR tomorrow. All these years I thought getting a PR would be an achievement but my life is so much better right now in my own country I don't wanna give it up for Canada which will pretty soon turn into a third world country. Getting a Canada PR has become a joke.
As I said before, never attach too much value to PR. The reason why a lot of people go for PR (especially the inland applicants) is because they don't want to deal with IRCC every now and then (extending permits, TRVs etc etc etc). Its that simple. Its a long term visa with an option to become a citizen. Nothing more.

Now Canada itself? It is what it is. Its safer to live here than USA. But... its socialistic "AF" and it shows everywhere.

You want an option of treatment for covid (lord forbid if you get it)? In USA they have 4 monoclonal drugs. In Canada its just one and that too does not work.

You want a take home accurate test for covid? In USA you will be spoilt for choices. In Canada it is left to the tyranny of provincial CDCs. Meaning very few choices and more convinient ones are simply not there.

You want to measure antibodies in your system and want to take charge of your own health and safety against Covid (with appropriate consultation from a physician)? Tough luck. BC CDC does not agrees with you and WILL NOT let anyone offer such a test. Heck even if I want to test if my vaccines worked or not, I cann't do it because that test is "only available for research purposes" in BC. In ontario you may take it.

That SAID, if and when a vaccine became available, EVERY one was given that vaccine EVEN IF they were a visitor. All free of charge!

Put it this way, if you want to do things your way (because may be you can afford it), mostly Canadian systems will get in your way. But that said, if you want a decent life with a slightly above average capabilities, you will love it here.

Now only if Canada went socialist in housing. But then... if they did, they won't be able to fund rest of their socialist programs.

Oh, I forgot! While I am at it, FUCK USA!

Honestly, I’m just trying to sort through my possible options so I can have a plan B. Instead of just sitting and waiting for Canada. I believe they will eventually come through but i don’t know when and I feel like immigration policies keep changing, the earlier you leave the better. I low key thought immigration would be more favorable post Covid, considering the number of people who died, the people who refused to go back to work in addition to their already aging population. Their actions in choosing refugees and students and low skilled immigrants is just illogical. I don’t get it.
Politics! Politics! Politics!

At this point everyone should know that every action they’ve made this year was done with the motive of improving their chances of winning a majority in the election. As early as January this year talks about a possible elections this fall was already widely discussed; so it’s pretty obvious why they’ve acted this way.

plan B could be an open work permit, closed work permit and plan c is buy pr route (study permit + CEC) and the worst case plan is get a canadian gf/bf.
It's got me sad, as I would rather not spend a huge chunk of my life savings on a study route especially after the fact that I already have a masters. Would rather save for a down payment on my sick crib in Canada.

Have you ever lived in Europe? Getting a job after your studies is a long shot, especially if you do not speak the local language. Good luck with that. (Unless you work in IT, of course - but in that case you have options anywhere in the world).
And Canada is different how exactly? At least with the assumption that you do get a job, pay wrt cost of living seems higher in western EU. I'm actually curious, what makes you want to leave sweden for Canada?

Is it worth it to start thinking about européen countries that are somewhat easier to get to and have cheaper schools ? I honestly cannot afford $50k to go to school in Canada on top of the bank balance that’s needed. At the point I think a plan B and I think it might be better to wait for the Canadian PR in another county because my current life in my home country is strangling me.
I swear... I really don't want to meet the next elections or even their campaign sef, it's too messy. FSW will start again, the question is when?? Don't give up hope just yet, there's still light at the end of tunnel as long as no one has said anything about the program being scrapped. We will all get to the Canada.
