Dear Fellow Forumites,

I am thrilled to share with you all that I just received the GOLDEN E-MAIL - "READ FOR VISA" along with Passport Request instructions.
Once again thank you all for your support, guidance and assistance at each step of the visa process. I wish good luck to all of you.

Has anyone who lives in the USA sent their passport to regional visa offices in USA. For example, I live in Dallas, Texas and have a Canadian Visa Office in my city, is it possible to send the passports to them.

DO you guys think this is the right address.

It's against the law to mail the INDIAN passports to a different country (from the residing country).
Most of them got it changed to a 'local US Visa office'. I guess For east cost it's NY and West coast it's LA.

I'm also from the US, awaiting for PPR.
Once I receive PPR, I will reply back to CPC-O to change it to a local VO in USA.

Check with this guy "Goku", He got a transfer letter from CPC-O, to change it to LA.

so I just received the MR request exactly after 24hours of RPRF yesterday. will book my appointment and flight to Ottawa later!

I got a transfer letter from CPC-O to New York VO(Not LA), and that what not my choice that was IO's choice as Interview was required in my case. Though I confirmed it with IO in interview about sending my PP over to NVYO from CPC-O, and she said it ok to send. So Sending PP from USA to CPC-O should be ok. She said if customs have any question then they can verify if with VO(info. is on PPR email), that the reason its very important to include PPR letter while sending PP. I agree its safer to send PP to Local VO rather than sending it overseas.

Congrats! Why do you need to book a flight to Ottawa though?

I'm currently living in Nunavut and the nearest place to do medicals is Ottawa which is a 3hours flight. LOL

my bad . yeah you're right, it was NY.
Like you said, a few others suggested that it's safer to send the PP within US than overseas.
Not sure if it was you. someone did mention that it's against the law to mail the passport overseas.

Yes it is. Read second last paragraph on second last page on Indian PP.

Thank you for the reply and I am sending it to CPC-Ottawa 365 laurier ave west
from NJ. would there be any issues because i have seen many people send it and there is no issue.
