Hi guys,

I filed my application in May 2014, got my second line updated on November 1st but have received no response thereafter....

The waiting is really stressful...do we have any other way to find out the file status or has anyone under the same situation taken any important step which has been helpful...

I would be grateful if some one could guide me on this....

Either send a CSE or apply to get your GCMS, however the latter will take 5-6 weeks. Hope this helps

- CSE stands for: case specific enquiry, you can find the link for inquiries on CIC website for your visa office, following your enquiry you will get automated reply to your email confirming the receipt of your enquiry and informing you that a reply will be provided within 28 days, you should note however that the time frame of the reply is luck dependent, one time I got the reply within hours, other times it took a week or two.

- GCMS stand for: Global case management system, which is something like a central system where all information related to immigration are stored, the Canadian government allows requesting such information for a fee, by ordering it you will be able to understand the current status of your application, the officer notes, and the things which may be causing delay. When you order your GCMS it would normally take 5-6 weeks to get the results, however you cant apply to get it in person, but through someone in Canada that you know or through a Canadian law firm, the following firm charge 25 USD per GCMS request: www.visafile.info

Hi Georgy,

By now there should be something going on in your case. Have you received your PER (positive eligibility review) already from CIC? You should by now. Do you have a consultant?

I strongly suggest that you send an inquiry to your VO office o the status of your application.

Search their email address.

Hi friends,

Finally, after the long wait, the much awaited MR came last May 19, though we just received it May 21 from the consultant and the MR forms this morning.

Thanks God, His Archangels, Angels and the Saints!!! Praise His goodness!!!

Hopefully, it's smooth sailing after this..

Good luck to every one and praying for all.

Hello all Second liners
I had another question regarding the back ground check which the NDVO does
After the second line update do they start background check, in that what they do..
