I just got off the phone with my friend in Canada an FSW2012 applicant.
Besides the usual stuff, he told me something that I thought I will share here.

The Canada immigration officers do not recognize any statement from Banks like ICICI, SBI, IOB, PNB, HDFC, etc.

It is a little known fact that you can open an account in India that you intend operating in Canada. (I know that this has been discussed earlier, but since we are closer to our goal than ever before, I am re-posting.)
To open an account, you will need your COPR on your passport and you are permitted to make only one transaction. So, barring $2500, (in my case) I intend depositing all the remaining sum of money in this bank. I was also told that, if I showed Rs. 9,00,000 in my application, I need to carry a statement that shows, that sum of money.
Preferably in Scotia Bank (or any Canadian Bank) as the immigration officer will recognize statements from that bank as it is verifiable from their end.

I would like to confirm if this is true.

Here is the URL of the Bank
http://www.scotiabank.com/global/en/0,,6176,00.html
http://www.scotiabank.com/startright/en/files/12/07/Designated_Scotiabank_India_Branches.pdf

I also found a list of Canadian Banks in India.
http://rbidocs.rbi.org.in/rdocs/Content/pdfs/71207.pdf

Hi SINESTRA

Just visit RBS royal bank of Scotland ,citi,HSBC
If you open an account in this bank and deposit INR in it and request them to issue balance certificate in CAD on letter head of same bank but from canada branch. They will give it to you.
Meaning if you open and account with citi India and ask them to give you bank certificate on letter head of citi canada in CAD. They will give you easily.

Which is acceptable and convenient for you too!

Your money wil remain in india account only.

So has there been any incident of Not Acceptance of Statement from certain Banks at Airport??

I surfed in internet, till now no one reported about this incident. In one forum they mentioned-No one carries the whole amount during entry, people carry half of the money they showed as PoF. People usually stay tensed during their first trip to Canada and carrying that much money is risky.
I have seen people carried half the amount they showed as PoF. (Posted by jnathan- VIP member).

I think he mean along with the PoF we can carry half of the money shown in the settlement fund as cash or as traveler's cheque. No need to deposit money in international banks...

In canadavisa.com they mentioned about the documents required to carry while we land.

http://www.canadavisa.com/landing-settlement-canada.html

It just said they may ask for the proof of fund. Not specifically mentioned national or international bank...

Also in CIC link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/pub/welcome.pdf .

Page 11 mentioned under the subheading "Before you arrive in Canada" regarding what things we should carry with us. Have a look....

Yup, I was informed the same, that as I intend to stay around 3 weeks for PR activation and card, I should carry CAD 1500 as cash and take the updated (drawn preferably 8-10 days before departure) Bank Statement with me.

Hi friends

Now that i have sent the necessary docs to NDVO for my new born, I have another query.

My child is getting his vaccination done her in India, i heard it from one of my friend that vaccination records are necessary for child's school records later when we immigrate into Canada, and it can be demanded at even immigration clearance when we land in Canada. Is this true? If it may be necessary in the later years, what proof will they need?

A prescription from doctor? Or a receipt of injection given to the child? What is it required as proof of vaccination

please clarify

regards
laksmisesh

Dear laksmisesh,

There should be a Vaccination Card enlisting each Vaccination scheduled to be given to the child at his/her specific age. These Vaccination Cards are given by Clinics/Hospitals where Vaccination facilities are available. Once your child has taken Vaccination, let's say Vaccination at Birth Stage, nurse will record the date on the Vaccination card. They should sign and stamp in front of that specific Vaccination. Please note that all Vaccinations must be recorded on the Vaccination Card weather given orally or injected. This Vaccination Card will be accepted as a proof of Vaccination.

ANSWER: They will provide you a document (IMMUNIZATION RECORD FORM) at time of final Visa approval/issue of COPR to record vaccination provided to your baby. You can take it to any Doctor (not require to be DMP only) and make him signed on it. The form is also with me, if your Immigration officer forget to send you with COPR, mail me i will provide same. Yes ! very true you will require it, at a time of school registration and may be at time of landing at airport.

A prescription from doctor? Or a receipt of injection given to the child? What is it required as proof of vaccination.

ANSWER: It will not require any receipt, just they need sent form which will be authenticated by your DOCTOR.

please clarify

I think all vo will start processing with full capacity as most of officers are now back to respective local vo.

Dear manonquest,

I believe such form would be enough to fulfill the immigration/PR requirements and records but I don't think so, this form could replace the actual Vaccination Card. The schools in Canada must be looking for original Vaccination Card.

According to the CIC Call Centre agent,

:*Generally, a bank statment is acceptable as proof of funds on Landing.

*An unofficial bank statement, such as a printout of your online banking statement, is probably acceptable, if it is in English or French.

*It is best to bring the most recent statement possible.

My Dear Friend,

It is a formatted document for school registration. The document will be given by IMMIGRATION OFFICER FROM VISA OFFICE.

What you are saying is right, but this is a procedure, NDVO instruct us to follow, so we can't argue that we have file which has been already signed by doctors at every vaccination to baby. You may use your vaccination signed proofs / receipt as additional proofs but ultimately it require to have "IMMUNIZATION RECORD DOCUMENT" given by NDVO.

Regards.

No need to show the immunization form to the Immigration Officer.

In Canada it is a provincial requirement that all children attending school to appropriately immunized before school entry. In order to assist in the school entry and assist in the health of immigrant children, it is strongly recommended that a record of immunizations received prior to immigration to Canada be created and certified before leaving for Canada.
