Good Evening, Just a quick question,

So far my application, as with so many others is awaiting review at the visa office.

I just wanted know what other information will they request, I know they will ask for the medical report, passport and obviously the final fee for the PR.

Is there anything else they will a ask for?

Please PM me with any answers.

Much appreciated.

Police Clearance Certificate. I am assuming that by PR fee you mean, Right to Permanent Residence Fee also known as RPRF.

I just got off the phone with my friend in Canada an FSW2012 applicant.
Besides the usual stuff, he told me something that I thought I will share here.

The Canada immigration officers do not recognize any statement from Banks like ICICI, SBI, IOB, PNB, HDFC, etc.

It is a little known fact that you can open an account in India that you intend operating in Canada. (I know that this has been discussed earlier, but since we are closer to our goal than ever before, I am re-posting.)
To open an account, you will need your COPR on your passport and you are permitted to make only one transaction. So, barring $2500, (in my case) I intend depositing all the remaining sum of money in this bank. I was also told that, if I showed Rs. 9,00,000 in my application, I need to carry a statement that shows, that sum of money.
Preferably in Scotia Bank (or any Canadian Bank) as the immigration officer will recognize statements from that bank as it is verifiable from their end.

I would like to confirm if this is true.

Here is the URL of the Bank

I also found a list of Canadian Banks in India.

So does ICICI.
If you know anyone who has migrated recently, can you check with them if this is true?

yeah but the question here is if that is acceptable by the immigration officers as proof of funds when we land. I imagined we would just have to carry a p o f statement from the bank...

Well dear , UCI number is generated once you make any kind of application with cic , whether visitor or study ,

I called them and they told that number which was same and mentioned on my visitor visa , its in the bottom right side of visa - 8 digit number .

You can confirm ur uci would be same if u previously had visitor visa .

Thnx

Problem is, you can't have a UCI number from a visitor's visa. It has to be a form of residency permit e.g study visa, work permit, temporary work permit etc. I have been to Canada myself several times and have no UCI number. You can either phone in to get it or wait for your PER email. I have chosen the latter.

All the best.

Trying to get some clarity on this on the forums...

Most of Indian private banks do have branches all around globe.........working in connection with other banks in those places......
But...SBI.......have its own branches.........when I applied in 2008........I had to withdrew my application and returned India.....
But my friends from Kuwait.......who applied in 2008 with me.....got their visas stamped and landed with SBI deposits from SBI,Kuwait.....

Recently 3 of my friends landed with same deposits buddy......

So there is nothing much to worry about or scratch our heads...........

Stay relaxed..... :)

Strange... my consultant informed if VO accepts Bank statement as POF, the same statement can be used for landing purposes, whether it a local bank or international... the immigration officers at airport is Not required to verify any POF, rather they need to see if the documents are there or not.. it is VO who MAY check the documents before issuing MR.

Has anyone ever returned without Visa Activation due to Not Accepting Certain Bank Statements ? This is strange as nowhere in their requirement guildlines I've found such clause ...

I agree with you. It is the responsibility of visa office only to do this duty and its not the role of immigration officer at the airport to look whether the bank deposit is in international or local bank (they may verify all the documents we submitted to cic). At the time of landing we just have to carry some fixed amount as per the CIC guidelines along with us. That is what the immigration officer at the airport checks.

So has there been any incident of Not Acceptance of Statement from certain Banks at Airport??
