Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding how to document my foreign work experience for a CEC (Canadian Experience Class) application under Express Entry.

I have a total of 3 years of skilled NOC experience (NOC 22222), which includes:
  • 2 years and 9 months of full-time employment, and
  • 3 months of paid full-time internship at the start of the employment in the same NOC carrying the same duties and responsibilities.

I’m planning to claim the full 3 years of experience. My question is:
Should I prepare one experience letter combining both the full-time job and the internship, or
Should I provide two separate letters, one for the full-time work and another for the internship?

I understand that IRCC accepts paid internship experience toward skilled work experience as long as it meets all eligibility requirements (e.g. full-time hours, skilled NOC duties, and proper documentation).

Also, if anyone has dealt with a similar situation or has insights on how IRCC prefers this to be presented, your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

If all during PGWP, then it counts. One letter. An internship is a job like any other job and nothing differentiates it if same NOC and company.

Its not about Canadian work experience, this is about the work experience gained outside before arriving in Canada that I wanted to know. Thank you for the confirmation that it counts, I hope the same rule also applies to the foreign work experience under CEC.

Internship is just a job that counts.
