Better safe than to be sorry!! I would recommend carrying your driving license, passport and a copy of your application to restore status due to ever changing rules.

I am a Canadian citizen and once the the airlines refused to check my baggage in since I was not carrying my return ticket and could not prove that I would be coming back by a certain date which was 2 months away. I then had to contact my spouse who urgently emailed the return ticket, which I had to show to the airlines, where after I was allowed to check in my baggage. Phew!!

Completely irrelevant for domestic flights within Canada. No return tickets are needed if flying within Canada, you must be referring to an international flight.

I fly domestically once every few months and I never carry passport. Photo ID is needed, driver license counts, but if you don't have it, passport is fine too. They even remind you to open it to the photo page at the gate.

Unless it's a domestic flight connecting to an international flight (E.g. Calgary-Vancouver-Tokyo). Then the airline staff at check in will check passport in Calgary, even the flight is initially domestic.

Hey everyone,

I have a question and I hope you guys can help me.
I have a booked flight from Toronto to Regina. But I'm currently waiting for my restoration status. From what I've read, all I need is my ID ( drivers license ) and I'll be fine, because all they want is to check if the name matches my purchased ticket.
But I emailed my lawyer since she's away and, maybe to be secure, she told me "there's no border control on domestic flights; every person with a valid status can travel within canada". So .. I got lost and worried. I came here and I read some topics and I believe no one will check my "no status" situation. But I would like to be 10000% sure.. I don't want to risk it all now.

Should I be worried and don't go or it's just me being paranoid?

Thank you in advance for the help!!
Were you able to fly domestic just using a Canadian drivers license?? If so, did you have any issues with security or boarding??
