I took the OSCE and was given 5 competencies to fill in. Pag nag take pala ng OSCE mas ok na maka pass agad, walang school nag offer ng competencies needed, York University lang and full course pa siya, hindi yung gaps mo lang. So abang abang nalang muna at baka may school na mag offer, sana may magawa sila, kasi as of now dead end na ito >_<

Hello po. I'm new po here. Helpful po ang mga infos dito. Ask ko lang po if pwede po hindi magpasa sa NNAS ng verification of nursing practice? May experience naman po ako but yung first po is more than five years na. Godbless us

Someone please enlighten me.

So I recently passed my RPN exams and I've been looking around for jobs. I noticed that most of the places are requiring medication certificate (I assume that's the administration of medications). I inquired in Mohawk, they're offering the course which will run for over 2 months. On the other hand, a friend of mine told me that she was able to get the certificate by going to a 2-day seminar. Job postings does not specify which medication certificate they want. Which one should I take?I am soooo confused. Help please.
btw, I am in ontario.

I found this school or organization that provides training they are called Nurse Education Inc in toronto and according to them they are accredited. has anyone been to this training provider? Are they good? Were you able to use your certificate from them in finding jobs?

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

yeah i agree with Mariet.
It's only fair for us to the the exam and not the bridging program because we all went to university and had more than enough postgraduate experience to be licensed in Canada..
But then again, it's their LAND and their rules so we all have to abide by it. it's still in their discretion if we need more continuing education or not.
Hopefully not ;D

Hi, it's a requirement now for CNO to apply for NNAS first before applying for nursing registration to any Canadian nursing body.
Regarding your experience, it's mandatory to have at least a year of nursing experience but I'm not sure if they'd accept it if it was 5 years ago or so.
At the NNAS website, you have to get your nursing employer to submit your certificate of employment directly to them.
You can ask them via email, they have it on the NNAS website. ;D

Hello guys!

Medyo long read to so please bare with me.

2012 nag apply ako sa CNO under RN and was undergone a SEC Assessment. Then when the result came in, sinabi nila sakin na I should meet all the unmet competencies by going back to school. I tried York and wasn't able to get in to their BScN program so I asked other colleges around Ontario if they also have the same program as York does. Unfortunately pang RPN lang pala yung sa iba and the other universities were like 3-4 years, back to zero talaga. Nung nalaman ko na pwede palang magapply din sa RPN sa CNO at the same time na meron na kong file under RN, nagpa assess ako. PRoblema nnaman ng malaman ko na within 3 years lang pala yung inaaccept nilang practice, I graduated April 2010 and the assessment came back in September 2013!! 5 months lang yung gap di pa ko nakahabol!! Ngayon binigyan ako ng letter stating that I should get 400 clinical hours and take additional courses, so I guess that's bridging program. I was scheduled to take CRPNE as well but I just withdraw my application for the exam kasi naisip ko na I will have to take the bridging program anyway based on what was in the letter. I talked to some of the Colleges offering the course but it will take me two years to finish it so I didn't pursue it anymore. I forgot to mention that I am here in Manitoba and moving in Ontario to get those courses is a big step to take plus I got busy working.
Now, I am back to my goal of becoming a nurse here in Canada and I've learned that CNO will accept proof of language proficiency and could waive IELTS.

Here are my questions:
1. Does anybody here went through the same dilemma as me on SEC assessment for RN and applied to a recognized RN Program of CNO?
2. Does anybody here went through the same thing as me for RPN application asking to take bridging program and can take the CRPNE at the same time? How did it go?
3. Re evidence of language proficiency, how does it work? I am working as a HCA in a nursing home for the past four years. Should I get my manager to write a letter to CNO?

Please advise. Thanks in advance!! :)

Hi! Can somebody help me please? Im about done with my FSW application and waiting for my visa now. I wish to get started with NNAS process and apply to CNO. I have masters degree (WES EQUIVALENT: 4 years bachelors), working as a nurse researcher and educator for almost 6 years now. My education and work lahat english ang primary language. Should i have to do my ielts academic still or not? If kailangan kasi, i wish to take it here before i leave. Also, in my case, kailangan ko pa din kaya ng bridging or additional studies?

Don't do IELTS now. Create online profile then pay 650 USD to get application forms.

NNAS will decide if you need additional studies.
