These days "In Process" is looking a lot like the VO is sorting themselves out on finalising the application, actually. From most posts I read lately, especially if medicals are received as well, it can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks (depending on the VO) for the applicant to get a PPR once they move to "In Process".

I'm hoping, since your case is as straightforward as they come, that Singapore moves swiftly and redeems themselves. ;) *fingers crossed*

WOW that would be awesome if that turned out to be the case, my understanding is that once we had that my wife would have to land and we could then come back to BKK and sort out business stuff before returning for good, is that the way you understand it?

You know I hope of course that we are done with this as soon as possible and I tend to agree with you (of course) that our case is ultra straight forward and it sure would be nice to know sooner rather than later so we can start making plans to tidy thing up here. I don't know that if even that would redeem SG

The visa will have an expiration date based on when your wife did her medicals, so you guys will have up until then for her to land. If you prefer to land immediately and then fly back to sort out your home and business, you also have that option.

You can either wait the 2-3 months (currently at 39-42 business days) until she receives her PR card before returning to sort things out, or go back immediately and have someone forward the card to you when it arrives. If no-one is available or you are done before the card is available, then you would go back to SG for a travel document for her to return to Canada. Not sure if you want to see them again after being done with this process!

Ok so I think her medicals were done Dec. 7th or so last year... hmmm that would be a tough call..

Pretty sure we would land head back and have my brother who lives in BC forward the card we have a lot of crap to clean up here before we go and we were really really hoping to be there full time before March 2012 to get my son registered for school next fall. Anyway I am getting far too excited here about a simple in process change I am sure there might still be a ways to go wait wise so I will just continue to hang in there. Oddly enough my wife just picked up her new car today and she actually said when were buying it wouldn't it be funny if she got approved shortly after buying it and she ended up without much time to drive it... hmmmmm maybe I should have bought that for her sooner hahaha

Hahaha, definitely should have bought it sooner. ;D

Lets just say between you and me ;) that if somebody who will go unmentioned could have made their mind up sooner she would have had the car sooner... trust me that was a very very funny experience I think by the end the saleslady was ready to run out of the showroom screaming... all the staff know my kids by name now and they keep our little couch reserved by the TV for us to use whenever my wife stopped in to mull over her options yet again hahahaha

Bahaha, enough said!

E-Cas just went wild for us according to: https://ecas.carroll.org.uk

We got the following added:

"We sent you a letter on March 24, 2011 about the decision on your
application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

"We received XXXXXXX's application for permanent residence on
April 7, 2011."

"We started processing your application on April 8, 2011."

God I hope they are just tidying up and getting ready to issue the PPR. The waiting just got 10 times worse. I hope they have our medicals.

Your finger crossing did the trick, received the PPR this morning. File went to "in process" July 17th, according the letter this morning it was sent from SG on July 20th so three days to tidy up as you called it.

I have to admit I impressed with how fast SG did our application. Feb 8th file received in Mississauga, sponsorship approved on March 8th, file received in SG on March 17th file in process July 17th and PPR request done three days later on July 20th the letter got here in three business days as they sent it by courier.

I only wish they handled all the other files so quickly and put some of the people waiting a long time out of their collective misery.

They couriered it to us this morning with all our photos and other keepsakes included. Sent out on July 20th from SG and three business days to get here is about right.

Congratulations Bangkokcanuck...it was great to read that your wife received the PPR. Very happy for you both :)

Thanks very much for the good wishes... now the real work begins haha... figuring out the flight times and house hunting and closing up businesses here selling houses and cars ... goodness...

Yep, same here. We have a house to sell too, so we put it on the market figuring we'd have a few months up our sleeve and it sold in one week!! So now we're madly trying to get organised to leave on settlement date which is about six weeks away. That's a house full of furniture, a toddler, two cats and us to go :)

Ok now I feel a lot better thanks.. misery does love company :D

We are thinking to just go land like next month or whatever and come back wait for the PR card and tie stuff up during that time frame from what I understand we can do a "goods to follow" for the stuff we plan to bring later and we canceled a trip we were planning in Sept so we can fly to SG and hand in the passport in person so it will only take 2 - 3 days to have the Visa. Then in Sept go land in Canada... might work haha
