My friends application reached FBI on 2nd Oct. It was completed on 16th Jan .

Hi Everyone!!

I hear that prior to the MR the CIC may request for the PCC and would give only 30 days to submit the same. I am at the moment awaiting the MR. However, I did not submit my FBI certificate along with the application as I did not receive the certificate at the time of my application.

I received my FBI certificate dated November 10th 2014. My application to the CIC was received on October 2nd 2014.

MY QUESTION: SHOULD I APPLY FOR A NEW FBI CERTIFICATION OR WILL THE ONE I ALREADY HAVE IS SUFFICIENT?

Hi mohammed.morsy,

It is now really hard to know what is causing the rejection of the fingerprints by the FBI. Even if it gets rejected there would be one more application after one or two week. At least you don't have to wait another 14 weeks for the next one.

There are many things which may go wrong.

- FBI loosing finger prints - example : forum member terkukaiku's finger prints were lost by FBI
- Credit Card getting lost or blocked for some reasons
- Misplace / loosing the letter by the postal department. Although this has not been reported till now
- Putting incorrect address on the envelop and hence causing delay : It happened in my case for Illinois PCC. They mentioned the Street name , city and Country. But they did not put the ZIP code by mistake . The letter took 6 weeks to reach . I am thankful to the Indian Postal service as they delivered the letter without the ZIP code. The postal department wrote it by hand. I could see stampings of different post offices on the back of the envelop which made me understand that it was going in circles to different post offices across the city.


How much does it take to send one more application with new set of multiple prints. At this point , time is more valueable.

Now I see the point.
Perhaps because my primary fear of rejection is that due to quality of fingerprints that I didn't think of other threats.

can we ask for state police check instead of FBI clearnce..how much time it take ,,,i need from state of Michigan,,already applied for FBI clearance application reached to FBI on 19 NOV 2014 but still not in there system,,and i got letter from CIC on 2 jan to submit PCC of US

Thank you very much. That was a valuable piece of info that you gave me. So basically if I had the FBI certificate dated prior to July 2nd 2014 (my application was received on 2nd October 2014), the certificate will not be valid. Correct me if I am wrong. Btw +1 for you

I went to Kansas State University but did not send the Kansas State PCC with the application. I have received a request by London VO to send my FBI PCC and medical results. Looks like the Kansas State PCC is not required by them if you have the FBI one. My details are as follows:

VO: London
NOC: 2173
App received: 27 June 2014
PER: 24 October 2014
Med request: 15 January 2015
FBI PCC request: 15 January 2015
RPRF: 15 January 2015

It's not up to you to choose whether to submit an FBI PCC or a state PCC, it's up to the VO.
Some of us apply for a state PCC just in case if the VO decides that it's required so that we save time.
You should just hold on and see how it goes with the FBI. Good luck!

Yes. the accepted interpretation is before sending application, it should be less than 3 moths old. If you receive PCC after sending application it should be less than one year on the date of request for submission.

but there were exceptions, some VOs accpeted old PCCs too.
