Hi guys,

I wanted to clarify some things regarding the FBI PCC request.

- Is it mandatory to use the standard fingerprint form (FD-258)? YES

- If I want to use the live scan option instead of the ink, do I need to place the scanned fingerprints on FD-258 form or can I place them on a separate paper? I think it should be on a FD-258
If I can put them on a separate sheet, do I need to fill out FD-258 form?

- In instructions, it says "use standard white stock paper". Will the plain A4 paper work? YES

-Also, do i have to provide the official contact of the fingerprint taking place? NO

Please let me know!

Thanks!

LOL, I'm not sure how much longer mine will take
I submitted mine on October 20th, I'm expecting my MR/PCC request anytime this week.
Just wanted to get this done... I really dont want to have to deal with extending my due date with CIC

When is your FBI PCC submission date ? Has your CC been charged for FBI PCC ?

Thank you so much! Please look for another question below.

The thing is there is no FBI authorized channeler in my country.
So I have two options:

1. Do it at the local passport issuing station. They can put my live scan fingerprints on FD-258. I can fill it out, but I am not sure if they will be willing to put their official contact info on FD-258.

2. Do myself manually using the ink and stuff.

So which one I should go with?

Please advise!!! Thank you!

Get one print from the station. Make two prints by yourself with YouTube instructions.
You will minimize the risks of being rejected that way.

BTW: has anyone contacted the FBI today? Their office hours resumed 8 minutes ago.

This will work and would be better. Because you can see in the computer whether the prints are ok and then you can print. Live scan works good on four finger prints taken simultaneously. But I am not sure how good it would be for rolled finger prints. But any way you can see before you can print.

2. Do myself manually using the ink and stuff.

Yes. You can do that. But here the catch is you have to get the right ink. The ink should be oil based and non sticky one. The inks which we use on stamp pads might work as well. But you should be extra careful because the first print becomes smudgy. Submit multiple prints so that any one would be accepted.

So which one I should go with?

Please advise!!! Thank you!

I had submitted mine on 20th October, I sent a DD, so I'm not sure if it got used or not
I called the fbi and they said they are currently working on October 10th and 11th applications

That doesn't make sense. My application was received on Sept 15 and I believe they were processing Sept 12 applications

Just called FBI and they are entering applications that were received around Oct 12th.

Looking at this pace, I'm Sept 19 and chances of getting my report in 2014 looks very dull. I don't think they are going to work next week or thereafter with Christmas and New Year lined up. :( :(

Guys - quick update. I just got off from FBI customer service call.

The lady was helpful. I asked if there's anyway she can tell whether my fingerprints were fine and used. She checked and told me fingerprints were accepted for both me and my wife. The request is "in process", and will be completed by this weekend. Hopefully letter early next week :) :) A great sigh of relief.

App reached date - Sept 19th

Call them. I was extremely polite on call, very patient, and greeted her all the time - so it helped ;)

Thanks..

Just wanted to update my status here.

I'm a Sept 9 applicant. They completed my report on Dec 9. Initially they told me that they would mail it soon. Then on Friday, Dec 12 they told me that they would mail it over the weekend. Finally, today Mon, Dec 15, they have still not mailed it :-\

In one of my prior conversations they told me that they are required to mail reports with 7 days of completion. Looks like they might break that rule in my case :o

I will keep this thread updated.

Congratulations!! 8). Some of the people there are nice, the others are straight up rude. They will not give you any information. I think you would get it before the end of the month.

Thanks, o_o. I am sure you'll get the report by this week. :D
