Do you guys know how many days Indian consulate (NY) take to issue PCC if passport was issued in India?

Guys , which number are you all calling for fbi updates ? I am a Oct31 applicant and I know it's too early to check but I guess it doesn't harm to call and ask the current processing date

Their website says 45 days for issuing PCC for a passport not issued in the US.

I got my PCC under 4 days from Chicago consulate. Please go to Embassy at the earliest, and explain your case. My guess is you should be getting under 2 weeks, provided your passport is issued from a major city in India. Again, you can write them an email or go in person, and ask the same.

Like someone just mentioned. it would best to visit the consulate rather than mail them.
my pp was issued in in NY. so I got my pcc in 7 days.

(304) 625-5590 8 AM to 8 PM Eastern, Mon to Fri.

I personally, think you should wait for a week or two. There is no point calling them if your application has not yet been opened. I think they are near the middle of Oct, so I guess about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. If you have paid with CC, you will get an indication when the charge comes through.

I just wanted to update you guys:

I just got off the phone with the FBI i.e. Friday evening 7 PM Eastern, and they have still not gotten to my application (Sept 9). The guy I talked to said that they are a few thousand away from me i.e. they are still working on Sept 8 :-\

He was guessing middle of next week. Also he could not say if my Finger Prints have been accepted All he could tell me that as soon as it comes out of the machine, they are required to mail it in 7 days. But this is not helpful.

Today I got an email stating that my application was transferred to Bucharest VO instead of Amman, they asked for FBI report for me and my wife and gave me 60 days to submit the documents, I already emailed my fingerprints to the FBI it supposed to reach today so I will not be able to submit FBI report within the time the VO gave me, what should I do? Any suggestions? I also applied for the state police certificate before 10 days. Do you think they might accept state PCC?
Note: we stayed in the US for 2 days less than 6 months, should I mention that when I contact my VO?

When Bucharest VO has asked for FBI Report you have no choice but to provide them one.
One of my friends friend was from Bucharest VO. He asked for an extension at the time his deadline approached. But Bucharest VO did not reply him. Now when he received his FBI report he asked again Bucharest VO what to do. Bucharest VO replied him then and asked him to provide his FBI report and passport together.

My application was received on October 14th by FBI and so far my cc has not been charged. Is there something wrong with my application or still FBI needs more time to open my envelop??
Any response is highly appreciated.

I called him 2 days back and as far I remember they were opening 8 or 9th Oct. Don't worry I am guessing your CC would be charged within the coming 2 weeks at a max.

Hi Guys, my request was received by the FBI on Sept 8th and when I called today I was told it was going to be mailed out on the 11th. They wouldn't answer if my fingerprint went thru fine or not, kept saying result will be mailed on the 11th.

This is very bad news. The timelines was 12 weeks. Now even after three full months they are taking additional days.

hi dear , i'm also an amman applicant who applied at 14th of july applicant , i'm glad to hear you recieved a letter from bucharest , it seems they are not sleeping as we thought

there is a group on whats up , join us as we are more than 20 persons all in Amman , there is also a group on this site called amman visa office .

regarding you application , i recommend you send the state certificate with the rest of papers explaining why you cant get the fbi pcc now and attach to it the processing time of 12 weeks on cic site and also the proof ( tracking number information , showing that you already sent the pcc )

also i would recommend NOT ASKING THEM OFFICIALLY FOR EXTEND NOW !! just wait for thiere answer in case they refuse the state pcc just send them an extension letter once you reach a few days of the deadline of the 60 days

thanks akashasar for sharing this information , could you please tell me how long after deadline end did you friend got hi FBI PCC ?!! because from what i know if you dont apply within deadline you may get refused ?!
