Hi,

Do I need to attach photos with my application when I send them to Sydney?

Rupesh, Can you tell me how you obtained application fee in CAD from USA?

Additional family information (IMM 5406); I'm the principal applicant. However in this application, for my spouse, "Applicant" should be spouse's name itslef, right?

please do advise if anyone knows - I have contacted my local Visa Office & they said that they currently reviewing my application - how long it can be? I wish to withdraw & apply with Sydney. Is it possible to send another application to Sydney while having my local application going on?

Nobody knows the answer for sure! I sent a letter of withdrawal before I sent the new application to Sydney. On CIC website, there is a FAQ asking if it is possible to withdraw an old application and re-apply under the new rules and the answer by the CIC is YES. However, there is no data available as to whether or not you MUST withdraw the old one before applying for the new one. But my assumption is that yes, you need to withdraw the first one as they are the SAME applications and you cannot apply for the same thing twice. Again, I am not sure.

the matter is that they are not the same - old application is for one NOC that is not in the list of 38, but another one I wish to send is in the list. please do advise.

This is just my own opinion but I think they ARE the same! You are applying again for Federal Skilled Worker, aren't you? I have personally talked to an immigration lawyer and he said you may apply without withdrawing the older one but I did not listen to him!!

Those immigration lawyers have no more experience than we do! This process is new and not much data is available as to how it works so what they tell you is their guess. If a wild guess is to be made, I would prefer to make it myself!

just thought of posting this is in common questions.


FOR GETTING POLICE CLEARANCE IN INDIA.....IF RESIDING IN INDIA AT PRESENT

a) go to your local police station and enquire which zone/DCP office does your area come under??

b) give an application to the DCP office stating that you want police clearance for immigration

c) copy of the cic letter asking for pcc....notarize/ attest it and attach to the application and pay the processing fee

d) after depositing application at DCP office pursue at the local police station, they will come and do enquiry

e) collect it from DCP office after few days/ weeks

Thank you very much PMM for the accurate reply.
I checked te current page with the google's cache and found out that i was right to only get the FBI PCC when I was collecting my documents. But they changed the rule on Feb 19 2009! How lucky I am! Now people need to provide BOTH FBI and State PCCs.

However, it might not be easy to obtain state ones when you are outside the US. For me, the state website askes you to send in a form along payment and a self addressed envelope with enough stamp on it. Do you know how one can obtain a US stamped envelope overseas?

WPC71.. are you getting the State PCC done also ?
My application was recieved on Feb 12th 2009 and I got an answer back by 26th Feb 09.Do I need to get the State PCC as it was submitted change in the rule.

Well, my visa office specific form says for police certificates we need to refer to the up-to-date info on CIC's website and there, it askes both federal and state PCCs. So Having obtained the federal one before, I also applied for the state one.

No idea about salaries in cash. But my feeling is that it could be difficult to prove.
