Re: Common questions

Hello ALL,
I have some points to ask before apply for immigration skilled worker.

1- Can anyone tell me ? how long i should keep funds in my bank account.
like ONE DAY, ONE MONTH OR THREE MONTHS continuously 90days, 30 days or just last balance showing
the required amount ex. 14000 canadian dollars.

2- I SCORED in IELTS all over 5.5 (speaking-7.0, writing-6.5, reading-3.5 and listening-4.5)
All over points 69 (including my wife degree of bachelor 4 years)
3- If i submit the bank statement in my initial stage as the new checklist requirement and the CIO
take more than 5 or 6 months.
What if the CIO again ask for the bank statement again! do i need to show the new updated bank statement
or the old one would be OK.
4- how much cash should i carry at the time of landing in canada? some says all money like 14000 canadian dollar, some says just 2000 canadian dollar
some says they just ask but they dont check how much u got in real. what is the true statement?

plz answer
Best Regards

1. You should keep your funds in your account as long as you don't have your Canadian visa in your hand.

2. I don't see any question here.

3. You should always show the updated bank statement

4. As of today, May 16, 2012, it is around $14,000 CAD. It may or may not change once the new Ministerial Instructions come out

1- Can anyone tell me ? how long i should keep funds in my bank account.
like ONE DAY, ONE MONTH OR THREE MONTHS continuously 90days, 30 days or just last balance showing
the required amount ex. 14000 canadian dollars.: It is not mandated that you should carry 100% of the total amount. Keep going your transaction and you should maintain around 70% of the total amount all time.

2- I SCORED in IELTS all over 5.5 (speaking-7.0, writing-6.5, reading-3.5 and listening-4.5)
All over points 69 (including my wife degree of bachelor 4 years): Your reading and listening is lower than the basic score. I feel you should sit for IELTS again to improve. What's your NOC? Some NOCs who have a direct interaction with the community like teachers, doctors, social workers might need better score.
3- If i submit the bank statement in my initial stage as the new checklist requirement and the CIO
take more than 5 or 6 months.
What if the CIO again ask for the bank statement again! do i need to show the new updated bank statement
or the old one would be OK.: You will be required to submit updated bank statements
4- how much cash should i carry at the time of landing in canada? some says all money like 14000 canadian dollar, some says just 2000 canadian dollar
some says they just ask but they dont check how much u got in real. what is the true statement?: You should carry amount as much as possible for the smooth settlement. Not necessarily in cash but other means of carrying your funds.. Sometimes they might ask question if you don't carry sufficient funds, so its wise to carry the required funds.

plz answer

Don't worry. If any such issues, they'll contact you and you'll have a chance to improve, if any. Actually it varies from IO to IO, as I found earlier where one of the same scorer got IELTS score update instruction whereas other didn't. I hope your score is okay except Reading.

I hope you will not be required to do so. Stay cool.

hello everyone! i am new here. I hope i am posting on the right thread.

I just would like to enquire. I am a registered nurse with 3years hospital experience as a staff nurse and 1 year experience a clinical instructor. I am planning to apply in FSW category and as a Registered Nurse. Is my experience as a clinical instructor can be counted as experience in order for me to get the maximum points in Experience. I heard that nurse instructors have been removed in the titles of RN. Is this true? I badly need this to exactly get the 67points.

I hope you can enlighten me.

Thank you... :D

You may count any skilled experience for points, even if you had worked as something completely unrelated so you do get points for the 4 years. For example, a nurse who is also an automechanic and in the last 4 years has the experience of 3 years automechanic and 1 year nurse could also apply under nurse.
