Hello,
I am mechanical engineer by profession (NOC 2132) & have permenant job offer from one of the employer in Ontario. I have received positive LMO for the same & got my work visa issued from delhi recently till 08/2014. I am planning to travel to Canada within two months from now. Could any one you guy please let me know if i should apply for PR under FSW category with arranged employement from New delhi before i go to Canada or i should first go to Canada start working there & then apply for PR under FSW with arranged employement from Canada? Which option would have less processing time? Also, I apply for PR in FSW from New Delhi, Will i be able to travel to Canada on work visa i received within two months of time from now? Thanks in advance for you reply.
-Gaurav

Hi all,

my case has been rejected by VO due to miscalculation. After couple of follow up emails, it has been reopened and VO asked for updated forms, PCC, POF & 3 copies of photos. I have sent everything on 23rd may, 2012. Can i expect the medical request or VO will ask for more documents?

Assuming the visa office has everything required to process evaluating your file, it would be normal for them to request medicals next. However, since they did not previously evaluate your submissions, if they find something that requires further clarification they will request additional documents, etc. Each application is unique.

Hi All, I got My Passport with visa recently & planning to land late this year or early next year. Could anybody mention how much minimum (atleast) money I need to bring as I am planning to stay there one month (My wife & two kids will also go there with me for one month).
Do I need to bring all money that I showed as a fund of proof? If it is less, will they refuse to enter in Canada? Is there any alternative if I can't bring that much since My family & myself are going to stay only for one month
Kindly help if anybody has any idea. Please, please................please.
Sorry to mention that I am under FSW category.

There's an excellent topic from qorax that has a the following section:

MONEY: PROOF OF LANDING FUNDS:
What Proofs Are Acceptable?
If you are carrying more than C$10,000, tell a Canadian official when you arrive in Canada. If you do not tell an official, you may be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:
• Cash
• Securities in bearer form (for eg, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
• Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for eg, B/drafts, Cheques, TCs or MOs).

How Much Funds Can I Carry?
There is no Max limit... we can take Millions, if we can prove its legitimate source & declare anything at/or more than $10,000 [that's the CBSA regulation]. There is a Minimum limit though... we must carry at least or more than what CIC requirement states, vis-a-vis for the no. of pax in the family [accompanying].

Tax & Duties Component:
The funds we bring inside Canada are Non-Taxable. It is only the 'interest' earned on that which is taxed. The moment our funds start accruing interest [while lying in a Canadian Bank a/c] the bank will start deducting tax 'on source'. The same applies for any 'investment' in Canada that we make with these funds.
