Express Entry - e-APR Submitted in November 2016

Hi Guys!

Would somebody tell me if my case if normal ?

I was an international student - graduated in 2013, but since I was super busy with my work so I only have a chance to apply for my PR recently.

I got my OPNP Human Capital Stream from my education background 600 score in October. and I got PR invitation to apply shortly after that in October too (My Post Graduate WP expired, so I applied for a visitor visa to come to Canada to get my police check and medical exam in Toronto). I submitted everything online in November 4th, 2016. I'ven't heard anything back since then. I check my CIC, and my background check is "In Progress". Medical Exam Passed, I don't know when my status changed, but I checked in the beginning of Feb 2017. Anyone know this is normal ? Am I under CEC? or PNP ? In land or Out land? I'm staying in Toronto now under visitor visa. Thanks guys !

your application get processed at local vo office centres, so at the time of submission if you changed your current address to the one in canada then your inland, and your application would have been sent to ottawa, but if you haven't changed the address, then send cic to move your application to canada and you become inland, else you would outland and once approved pr you will be asked to send your passport to local visa office

Irrespective of where you submit your application from, if you show Canadian work experience, your file will likely be processed to completion in Ottawa AFAIK. This might change on a case-to-case basis. Your application would likely be treated as an inland application.

Also, you should remember that even though you are a provincial nominee, the rules of one of the economic immigration programs (in your case, CEC) would apply. So, this means that you don't have to show POF (like the CEC AppIicants).

I saw a few inland PNP people having their 2nd BG in progress which is great!!. My BG status changed only once since Dec 6 to in progress. My GCMS notes says that I recommended pass criminality and security is NS (as of Feb 12). Now looks like this batch of applicants are having security checks in progress. I have a good advice for you guys. Contact CSIS directly (instead of CIC) to inquire about the security clearance of your application. Here are the instructions:
To enquire about the status of a government clearance or an immigration screening file, the following information is required*:

a full name,
date and place of birth,
the signature of the applicant, and
a return mailing address as replies are not sent by email or fax.
If you are enquiring on behalf of another person, the request must be accompanied by the Consent Form to Disclose Information to a Designated Individual.

Mail or fax the request to CSIS at the attention of:

Assistant Director, Operations
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P.O. Box 9732, Station T
Ottawa, ON

Your mail back is really fast , I use Canada post ,xpress , mailed out on Feb 21, today still not back , call CIC, they said it is already sent out, call canada post, they didn't receive the package . anyone use Canada post and get same timeline issue ?

From what i've seen 2 weeks is the regular amouny of time it takes to get it back. Did you wrote down the tracking number of your return envelope? If it was indeed sent back to you, thats the way to track it.

I saw a few inland PNP people having their 2nd BG in progress which is great!!. My BG status changed only once since Dec 6 to in progress. My GCMS notes says that I recommended pass criminality and security is NS (as of Feb 12). Now looks like this batch of applicants are having security checks in progress. I have a good advice for you guys. Contact CSIS directly (instead of CIC) to inquire about the security clearance of your application. Here are the instructions:
To enquire about the status of a government clearance or an immigration screening file, the following information is required*:

a full name,
date and place of birth,
the signature of the applicant, and
a return mailing address as replies are not sent by email or fax.
If you are enquiring on behalf of another person, the request must be accompanied by the Consent Form to Disclose Information to a Designated Individual.

Mail or fax the request to CSIS at the attention of:

Canadian Security Intelligence Service

Great info. So if I want to make a request for my spouse and me both, should I send one fax or two? We have common address and we are listed under same file. Do we still need the consent form signed by my spouse?
