Dear Friends,

1. The PR visa issued to me stipulates that I need to enter Canada on/before 16th July 2016. The destination (port of entry) is Vancouver.

2. I am currently working in India (Punjab) and have a few disposable assets (real estate) to settle.

3. Based on the understanding provided by this forum, a PR card takes anywhere between few weeks to months to arrive.

4. India is not on the visa-exempt list of countries, which means i'll need to have a PR card to board a flight.

5. I am okay with the PR card being mailed to my relative/friend, but what are the do's & dont's which should be kept in mind while applying for a PR card so that the hassle is minimized, for example:

- PR office guys asking for a passport size picture and you could be back to your non-visa exempt list of countries.
- Can't do much, if one is asked to collect the PR card in person.

6. Even though leaving without a PR card is not advisable, but considering the nature of my job and pending issues - I can not stay put for over a month as i am granted leave for the month of June'16 and extending the leave would be cumbersome.

Thus, the question is:

Can i request for a PR card application to be expedited when i reach Vancouver in June'16? Are there any agents/agencies to expedite the work on an applicant's behalf?

And

Can i use the landing document to come back via US (I have a valid tourist visa for US).

Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

There is no expedite process for new PR cards. Yes, you can use your COPR to re-enter Canada from the US by land. You should expect your PR card will be mailed (no in person visit required).
