Hi,

During the past two weeks, whenever I've tried to check eCas on my default browser (Chrome), this is the message I get:

The site's security certificate is not trusted!
You attempted to reach services3.cic.gc.ca, but the server presented a certificate issued by an entity that is not trusted by your computer's operating system. This may mean that the server has generated its own security credentials, which Google Chrome cannot rely on for identity information, or an attacker may be trying to intercept your communications.
You should not proceed, especially if you have never seen this warning before for this site.

I had never gotten this message before, so I kinda freaked out ???

Today, I thought of checking on a different browser (Mozilla Firefox), and it worked normally.

Should I worry about this?

Thanks to anyone who can help with an answer! :)

Ditto! It still is an issue when I log in.

Ok, so I'm not the only one. If Nitzan900 is right and it's just a bug, then there's no reason to worry...

So are you guys just ignoring it and getting into the site anyway? I'm still paranoid! :-X

I just click the "continue to to website (not recommended)" link and it takes me to the page still... it's probably nothing serious, probably just something expired on their software or updates or something...

I got that as well - I wouldn't worry about it too much ( but maybe that's just me!). With the new website, it's likely that they have changed a few parameters and haven't had the time (or the idea!) to make sure it works with all browsers. Most likely, they have done it for the "bigger ones" ( IE, Firefox), and not the others (Chrome, safari etc).

I'm using IE and getting it... I agree though, probably just an oversight.

Ok, then, thanks everyone :) I shall ignore the message!

I contacted CIC today regarding this Issue, Hopefully they will get the problem resolved.

I wonder what their timeline will be to have it corrected? (:P Just being cheeky!)

Yay, it's working again! The obsession can continue!

I'd be more inclined to blame Microsoft's IE over the CIC web-site. Especially if it works fine on Firefox.

Why do all computers come with IE? . . .

So that you can download Firefox! :D

Well I have had this issue, and my wife sent to CIC the screenshots of the error and so far when I checked it today, and it works great now.
