HI All

I have read the forum and I am writing to you with help. I have police case in Dubai with the Bank and some of the members here have the same problem to obtain PPC for canada .

I have got approved for canada and now again they have asked for police clearance which I cannot provide so is it ok if I just tell them the truth .

Will they deny me for this reason pls reply me with urgent help many thank in advance.

Anyone out there with the same status please PM me as I am worried .

I had the same problem but i cleared the case and get the certificate on time and you should do the same if you want to go to canada. If you dont provide them they will deny your case for sure. My friend you are in bad position and clearing case is the only option as you cant fly out of U.A.E with an active case.

Thanks for response.. you are right... I was supposed to meet you guys last time but I joned a new job on Oct 17th and they sent me to the states for a 3 weeks training.... and since then I was travelling like crazy

I don't know what's going with 2007 applications... seems we lack luck I assume

Because many of our 2007 friends have already received the VISAS.

Hi Qorax,

Not from Dubai but from the same Region... Bahrain!! After years and I mean "YEARS" of waiting for our application to be approved, we finally got to submit our passports for issuance of visas.

Need a little enlightenment please. We plan to land this July and be back for good in 2013 and I read that on our landing we need to declare stuff that we need to bring either at the time of landing or to follow to be tax exempt.

My question is, what will happen if we declare something i.e., electronic/appliances or even SUV car but then decide just not to bring it. Will there be any implications? Also, I know that you discourage bringing a Car to Canada as it might not pass their requirements but I guess I need more assurance if it is really not advisable to do this. We recently purchased a GMC Acadia which will almost be fully paid by the time we fly back to Canada for permanent residency and I would really love to bring it with us instead of purchasing a new one in Canada. If we declare the car, will it be tax exempt as well?

Need your advice please.

With regards to importing a vehicle into Canada from countries other than US. please check the following excerpt taken from the CBSA website. Also link is there for Canada safety regulations, plus most of the Shipping Agents would discourage you to go to that route. I did the due diligence and decided to sell my car in Dubai.

"Importing vehicles from countries other than the United States

You cannot import a vehicle that was manufactured to meet the safety standards of a country other than the United States or Canada unless the vehicle is the following:

15 years old or older (excluding buses);
a bus manufactured before January 1, 1971; or
entering Canada temporarily.
If the vehicle you are planning to import into Canada is less than 15 years old or is a bus manufactured on or after January 1, 1971, you must prove that your vehicle qualifies for one of the above exemptions. You can find details on determining the age of a vehicle, types of temporary imports and conditions under which a vehicle may be imported temporarily by referring to the previous section called "Importing vehicles acquired in the United States."

Exceptions

You can import a vehicle into Canada on the condition that the vehicle is designed, manufactured, tested and certified to meet the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards or the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, bears a statement of compliance label affixed by the original manufacturer, has not been altered, and the certification from the original manufacturer is still on the vehicle in any of the following situations:
