Hello everyone!!

I am new to this forum, but have been looking at immigration options for a while now (to Canada ofcourse)

I went to Premiers today, and the lady spoke very well and convincingly. Thankfully though, I checked the reviews and they seemed to be pretty horrible...

therefore, I have come to you all for some serious advice to apply for the 4th May 2013 FSW.

I have graduated from the American University of Sharjah (BSC Business Admin - major marketing) and by May will have 23 months full time work experience in Customer Service/Relationship for humanitarian relief shipments, as well as 6 months part time experience in Environment, health & safety (during my studies).

The lady at Premiers told me that the May opening does not have any job restrictions, as was tweeted by Kenny today; and includes NOC 0 A and B, so my occupation (Sales/Marketing) falls into that..and she also told me that CIC is now working to get fast track immigration done within 12 months..
anyone who can confirm this? especially the "no job restrictions" - and she told me that the quota is 55,000 applicants...

She seemed very positive about the whole thing after looking at my credentials..and was telling me to start almost immediately..

I have a few questions:

1) Where can I give my university degree for the check/assessment they have to do - she said AUS is well-accredited so should be very easy but takes a month or 2 to get the approvals etc.

2) I have a copy of my birth certificate in Hindi, but no original - can I get a proper notarized translation into english - anyone knows who can do a legal translation (for Indian BC) which is accepted by Canada immigration?

3) Where do I send my documents, and what do I really do on May 4th?
Documents include:
IELTS results (to be done soon inshaAllah)
Work experience references etc
Birth certificate translated legal copy
Proof of funds
Educational certificates which should have been approved in advance
...anything else? Am not married, so do I need to provide Singleness certificate or any of that?

4) If I get married in the next 8-10 months, will it be easy to add my spouse to my application? Or is it better to wait until I get a PR (which might be really long I think)

5) I seem to have 71-73 points (depending on if my work experience can count as 2-3 years or less), so should I still do a french test? I can speak french pretty well..

6) Police clearance - how do we get it and from where? Or should I just worry about that much later....

Would appreciate your soonest replies...

thanks-

Hi EFK i don't want to discourage you or anything. I am also an AUS graduate and wanted to give you a heads up about premier, they are VERY BAD !!!! when it comes to being helpful after you give them the initial payment. We have gone to them and after taking the initial i forgot 2000Dhs or something they don't answer your phone calls, they behave very rudely and basically unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing dont even trust what they tell you. You must have spoken to Emily, Real honest feedback don't go to them. from what i have seen through out this forum all the senior members have always advised to do it your self.

Thanks for the headsup Faraz..

Yes it seems to have a horrible reputation..but I guess I'm glad I went because I got a good summary of the whole process..
And I've seen that most people are doing it themselves, ends up saving a good 8-10k (aed)
So based on the reviews, I think I will be doing it myself..but I get worried reading the threads-like sending documents to London, long waiting periods, weird errors inbetween etc..but I still think it seems more worth it to do ourselves..

Any advice on the above questions from anyone?

Is it worth it to pay aed 1400 for the french test when I already have the points?will it be an additional benefit?and the rest of the questions too pls..

Thanks

Dear all,

I called the Indian Consulate and they advised that instead of getting the legal translation (document will have to be sent back to India), the other option is to get a new BC made from the Indian Consulate in Dubai - this will be in english and absolutely original - they will use passport date to do so...

Is this the same and completely legal? Can I make a BC now after so many years, and will Canada accept that as a true document?

Please advise...

thanks

Has anyone travelled in Saudi Airlines from India to Canada? The stopover at Riyadh is 8.5 hours and this is the part I am worried about the most. If anyone has travelled, please advise on service/convenience/food etc.

There's no such list anymore.
It's expected to be announced around Apr-May/2013, if at all it applies for the 2013 FSWC.
