Hi Guys,

Just new here in this forum, but been here in Dubai for about 6 years now. I applied for Canadian immigrant visa thru one of the consultants in Dubai and was advised last July 2011 to provide the demand draft (on which i complied) aside from the previous requirements i gave to them. Just recently, an intimation letter was forwarded and further explained by the consultant that the application was sent back (or incomplete) as the Canadian Immigration assessed the file, they found out that the validity of the demand draft has elapsed. I was wondering how could this happen? Is it the delayed of the consultant before they were able to submit the said requirements? or, as what the consultant had informed me, is it really the delay of the opening of the file from the Canadian Immigration office?

normally CHC process the DDs much b4 the visa process start. so validity issue will not come

u can apply for GCMS at any point. but in ur case if the file is not in process we cant say how far u will get the details. but no harm in applying

Hi Biju & All forum members (new & old),

I will be there along with my spouse, on the 23rd. Just a quick update, have submitted my passports for Visa Stamping and am awaiting their return soon. In the meantime I would like to get an insight on landing in Vancouver and all things i need to prepare for beforehand.

Mainly I'm worried because any kind of security or Background checks that will refer to Egypt <my original nationality> will take a longtime as the situation there is really bad.

We are now around 120 days, waiting for some more will not hurt anyone I believe

As well, I know for sure that God does everything in its perfect time..

I can see from your timeline you had the visa stamped already.. congrates...
I was wondering why it's delaying with us.. we are virtually in the same circumstances..

You are there already Xony, it's a matter of few weeks only and your PPR is there, I received it 4 months after Medicals physically received by VO, I wish you will be luckier and receive it in less than that... Cheer up brother and expect good news any time this Month or early April, and in between you can drop a mail to VO, it helps in letting them take you file from the roofs..... All the best

May I please ask which courier company you used to send your passports? I have also received my PPR but haven't sent the passports yet. Will send them in a few days. Secondly, I am also confused about whether to send only the new passports or new and old both. UAE resident visas are in the old passports.

I would appreciate if someone can help here,

unfortunately i sent copies of my work expereince, university certitificate and transcripts.......i got PER from CIO on 24 Feb 2012,my ecas shows in process, london visa office, now shall i make notorised copies of my documents and resend them to LVO or wait till they ask me to update and send the originals....i am fraid they might reject my case becuz of those copies........plz anyone can shed a light on this.

where to find Notary public in ABU DHABI .....plz?.
i have got only one original university certificate and transcript,do i make a certitifed copy of them or go to uni and ask for another originals and make them in a sealed envelope please advise.....

I sent my new passports as my UAE Residence Visa was in my new passport, however, I have been informed if your visa is in the old passport, then you should send both, as CIC would need to see UAE visa in the passport also. This information was given by Bijupv007 via Bestpal.

With regards to the Courier company, I have always used ICS (Indian Courier Services) this company was recommended to me by a forum member and I have found them to be very good and very reasonable priced, considering they themselves use DHL to send the parcels. They have branches in Naif area and Bur Dubai.

All the best with sending your passports, reaching this far don't delay this.

Dear Ramzy..

1- A notary you can find it in "Legal Translation Offices".. there is a lot of them in the street in front of Al NOur Hospital-Khalifa st., if you know it..
the one we used and our papers went smoothly is right in front of "Alyoussef Bakery" its called "GASP" or something like this - green signage..

These offices they have layer translators, they are not expensive and they hot stamp the documents and sign it... it's 100% approved by the VO
So absolutely there is no need to ask the University for other copies..

2- There is no need to worry! If any of the papers were not approved as copies and they required the originals or a certified copy, they will: a) either sent you back the whole file by mail with a letter for what they need to adjust - and this happened with me, b) or they will send you an email with the file No. and in it they will ask for a certain document to be sent within 45 days - also happened with me

So, since you say your Ecas is In Process, that means that your documents are just fine, don't panic!

Ah! there is still another option: if the London VO while revising your papers found that some documents are required to be attested/certified/updated.. they will ask you by email to submit them, or they will ask for them along with the medical in god's will... ah! and also happened with me

So no need to panic at all..

waiting means it's ok.. if something wrong they will send you email for sure..
